Probably ’46/’47 2A based on the grille. Seller NEEDS to sell.
“I have a late 40’s willys jeep that I need to get rid of asap. It’s basically all there and stock. In good shape. Seats have been upholstered . Asking 1000 obo . No title. 3104731”
This jeep is listed as a 1951 M-38, but the body is a replacement body (one with an MB-dash, M-38 indents, and no battery box). The grill may be a 2A grille. The frame may be a 2A frame. If you look at the last photo you can see the 2A tranny cross member hanger.
“Selling a true 1951 Military Jeep Willys. M38 Jeep runs and drives good. Motor runs slick as a button. Body is 95% rust free. No dents. New battery, plugs and wires, points. This Jeep is very rare and hard to find in this shape.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $6100.

“Running and driving 1947 Willys Jeep. Clean and clear Kansas title with a matching ID plate. Great to enjoy the spring and summer or use for your deer lease or farm!
– new distributor cap, rotor, spark plug wires, spark plugs.
Points and Condenser removed and upgraded to electronic ignition.
-New hi-torque starter
-Headlights work.
The LED tail lights and brake lights work, but aren’t currently wired.
-Smokes a little at start up then reduces when warmed up.
-The driver side wheel well has been notched to allow the driver’s seat to be pushed back. This is for all the guys with a rotund torso to be able to fit in comfortably, or long legs. I’m 6′ and my legs are fully extended and it sets very nicely.
-Windshield glass is good (no cracks) and the windshield pivots down onto the hood bumpers.
-The floor under the tool box could be patched or leave as is.
– A rare heater is installed if you ever put a top on it, and the fan does blow.
– Front tow bar is installed and it pulls very well. Bring a 2″ ball and pull it home or drive it.
Great jeep to drive as is or fix it up!”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $9900.
(03/25/2017) Has a variety of updates.
“Very nice 1948 CJ2A with 1963 Buick V-6, std 3-spd with Warn overdrive, 11 inch brakes, pwr steering, no rust ever.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1650.
This 2A appears to have an Econo-body type “H” Porter & Reed top.
“1948 Willys CJ-2A ‘project’ Jeep…runs, shifts, yard drives…4WD works…original flat head motor…still all 6 volt system…original windshield, seats, aluminum 1/2 cab…frame is straight + solid…front frame horns in nice shape…body kind of rusty for a restoration, but could be a decent driver…some tin patches done…needs exhaust, brake, body work, etc…asking $1650…Vermont does not issue titles for older vehicles, sold with bill of sale…”
It’s a 2A body that the seller has modified to look more MB/GPWish.
“I have a 1946 willys cj2a. It is a very good jeep, in good shape, and runs good. It was rusted and full of big holes when I got it. I spent a lot of time repairing, I cut out the holes, and welded in new steel. This jeep didn’t come with a glove box, I built one for it. It has the four cylinder hericaine engine that is real strong. And Dana 18. This is a civilian jeep, so it had a taile gate, but I was converting it to a 45 military, so I put in the solid rear panel. I only put it in one car show, and won 2nd place. That might have just been because of the gun. I don’t need to sale the jeep, I just don’t do anything with it anymore. I hate to see it not being used. I want someone new to enjoy it like I have. The browning 1919a4 that mounts to it, I have it in semiauto belt fed. I don’t want to sale it, but if the offer is good I will let it go with the jeep. I might be willing to trade for guns, or a jeep wrangler. $8,000 is just an opener, call me, let’s deal.”
