Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. It’s dated Nov 29, 1940, which is highly unlikely given this version of the jeep hadn’t been built yet. I’d guess more like late Nov 29, 1942 is more likely.

It’s a 2A body that the seller has modified to look more MB/GPWish.
“I have a 1946 willys cj2a. It is a very good jeep, in good shape, and runs good. It was rusted and full of big holes when I got it. I spent a lot of time repairing, I cut out the holes, and welded in new steel. This jeep didn’t come with a glove box, I built one for it. It has the four cylinder hericaine engine that is real strong. And Dana 18. This is a civilian jeep, so it had a taile gate, but I was converting it to a 45 military, so I put in the solid rear panel. I only put it in one car show, and won 2nd place. That might have just been because of the gun. I don’t need to sale the jeep, I just don’t do anything with it anymore. I hate to see it not being used. I want someone new to enjoy it like I have. The browning 1919a4 that mounts to it, I have it in semiauto belt fed. I don’t want to sale it, but if the offer is good I will let it go with the jeep. I might be willing to trade for guns, or a jeep wrangler. $8,000 is just an opener, call me, let’s deal.”

“Dana 18 transfer case, rebuilt with new seals and bearings. 1 1/4 intermediate shaft fits all Willys CJ, truck, wagon , MB. It bolts up to any T-90 transmission. $500”
