Some Assembly Required

Over the last couple of days I’ve been sorting through Rusty’s parts and putting it back together so its easier to ship (It sold this week). It almost looks like a real jeep again. I started with the bare frame that Ann and I cleaned up prior to the Alaska trip in 2017.

I thought it would be easiest if I reinstalled the engine and tranny and gas tank for transport.IMG_9633

With the powertrain installed, the body and front clip went together pretty easily. The parts have been sorted and boxed. It’s just about ready to go. IMG_9635

A time of mixed emotions I’m guessing. Rusty lost some of his “individuality” without the “crossed eye look”. Travel safe, Rusty.

Dave, Looks a lot better than when you bought it, that’s for sure, surprised at how solid the body looks. what state is rusty going to? If you can, take some pictures of Rusty’s departure. A couple of years ago, I sold one of my cars and took a video of it being driven on to the car carrier, great to have that memory to view.

You sold your Jeep and didn’t even post an ad on eWillys? You did good work to Rusty and I bet the new owner will be very pleased.

Steve: I agree about the lack of cross-eyed ness.

Mike: The jeep is headed east. We are working out shipping, but we’ll get that figured out.

Tate: I’ve had interest in it for a while. I thought it best to take care of it this summer in case my mom decides to move (not sure if that is happening or not yet).
