Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “It a Willys Jeep body in perfect shape on a VW frame and top and door are in great shape, Motor is in it but have never ran it. The body cost alone is over $2,000.00.”

“Selling the project I bought in order to find a new work truck. 51 cj3a with 86 v6 drivetrain. Its sitting on 35s, full fiberglass body that needs some work. Worn overdrive; has original willys hood, grill-headlight assembly and windshield frame.
Motor was gone through previous with all new gaskets and bearings. New clutch pressure plate throw out bearing, was told it has new brakes all the way around. I have most of the pieces to finish it, only laking a few things. Make an offer”

I’m still up from last night … in fact I’m sitting in the garage typing this up, so I’ll make this short. I pulled Patterson’s engine to swap with Rusty’s engine. I’ve got most of the parts swapped. Patterson’s tranny, though dirty on the outside, looks great on the inside, so I’ll just use that. I have some details I’ll discuss later, such as the carb linkage.
