The “Spring Thing” can be remedied by re-arching the springs. Had this done years ago on my 73 Chevy stepside. Speaking of stepsides, look at the pickup box on this Willys, I think it is a stepside box, nice fit. A swap like this was popular back in the 50’s& 60’s.
That’s done for carrying moonshine. Levels out when loaded.
The stepside box looks stock to me. You could get the running boards between the fender and cab if you wanted them.
