“Post-WW2 West Craft (Al-Toy) heavy cast aluminum toys are incredibly rare and valuable. Parts are impossible to find. I bought these 1-3/4” wheels, but actually need just two size 2’-1/2” plus an axle. They are for a standard Willy’s Jeep.”

Had one of these “tin pressed” Jeeps back when I was a child in the 1950’s, my dog Fido chewed up all the rubber wheels. The Jeep was my favorite toy.

These are not either Westcraft (Western Auto single seat version) or Al-Toy. I just measured both at 2 1/4 inches. All the Al-Toy Models, CJ2A, Pickup, Station Wagon, and Fire Truck used the same wheel/tire, just decorated differently or with various center reinforcements. I don’t know what these fit, but the seller is wrong with the description.

Sorry, I forgot the Jeepster Model, but it used the same wheel as the others but with painted whitewall and chair glide hub caps. All Al-Toy have 6.00 – 16 stamped sidewalls and Westcraft replaces Al-Toy in the Western Auto version. There is a Made in Canada version which I haven’t measured the wheels yet.

Glenn: Thanks for investigating this. I’ll update the post.

Mike: That’s the saddest story I’ve heard all day … and I’m going to a funeral today!

The Al-Toy wheels look similar, but they are 2 5/16 inches in diameter. I have a Canadian made Jeep that has smaller tires, I will measure them later today.

Gentlemen, I own 4 of these 6.00 16 WEST CRAFT. These are very hard, I was going to do the Wintergreen Oil softening but thought run them up the pole here. jim/Users/mcvicker/Desktop/IMG_0792.jpeg

    Hi Jim,

Thanks for the note. The link doesn’t have the full URL (it looks like that’s a link to the pic on your computer. If you want to email me the pic (d@deilers.com), I can post it for you.
