UPDATE: Thanks to Matt, I’ve added a photo of the front page of this six-page 8″x11″ brochure:

=====================

I recently purchased a 1952 Dealer Signage Brochure off of eBay. After receiving the brochure (I will post in a couple days), I realized the seller of the brochure mistakenly added the photo below to the auction, which at the time puzzled me because the signage didn’t seem to fit how Willys-Overland was positioning itself in 1952 (no ‘jeep’ signage, only Willys). Now, I think this image is from one of the earliest post-war dealer signage brochures.

I tried asking the seller if they have more pics of the early brochure. Unfortunately, communicating with the seller of the 1952 has proven difficult (after a few emails, it’s clear that the seller either can’t read very well or isn’t proficient with English).

So, does anyone recognize and/or have scans of this brochure?

    Dave,

    If you look at completed listings/sold items for willys sign brochure you will see the cover for the other brochure you are talking about. I sure wish I knew of the auction I have been looking for signage brochures for years and they seem like the hardest paper to find. Happy to hear you were one of the lucky buyers!

    Matt, thanks for that suggestion. I don’t know how I missed that Jan 11 auction! I would have snapped that one up as well.

    I’ll get the other scanned and published in the next couple of days.

    THE SIGNS SAY ” CARS ” — THE WILLYS AERO CARS CAME OUT IN 1952 – SO THE PIC IS FROM 1952 TO 1955 WHEN THE AERO CARS WERE SENT TO ———> BRAZIL

    Vernon,

    I am certain images above came from a circa 1946 brochure because 1) it mentions ‘JEEP’ and because 2) the signage is consistent for that era. I have a 1952 sign brochure that is consistent with the pre-Kaiser purchase of Willys assets, so I know the images above aren’t from post 1949.

    (I don’t own a sign either, so you aren’t alone …).

    Glad you won that brochure Dave, but bummer it’s not more puzzling as we thought – mixing the J logo back into the mix in ’52. Hope you can track down some more of these brochures over time, looking forward to seeing the scan!
