Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “*** Super Rare*** 1959 Jeep FC170 runs and drives street legal. Clean CA title in hand. Moving across country don’t want to tow all the way there. Fires right up, decent condition. I bought two years ago and drove it home from 2 hours away. She leaks oil, just needs seals replaced. I wouldn’t suggest driving long distances but could work with you on transportation cost, or possible delivery if not insanely out of the way. Great project truck!”

(12/01/2017) Non-runner. Seller says it is prices at a “dollar” but the price posted is $1600.
“Tail-gate and gas tank in one picture.Has Chevy adapter on transmission was never ran ( has small Chevy V-8 in it ) Priced at a dollar because I am working on it and will get it running price will go up . Rebuilding a original 4 cylinder for the truck will be installing or can purchase it with or without it installed very negotiable. Pickup box is very complete hole cut in floor for a transmission access have front bumper not in pictures with brackets. I will keep this truck advertise until I have it running.”

This is listed as an M-678, but that’s the utility van. This is the M-677.

This has a large tank on the back. Seller believes this was in the military. There appear to be a couple data plates on the dash, but otherwise this looks civilian to me. Thanks to Brian for spotting it.

“Military model Jeep FC170DW. Late 50’s to early 60’s model. 1 ton – dual rear wheels, L6-226 engine, 4 wheel drive. No tag or title. Engine runs, new shop built fuel tank. New fuel line. Fitted with large water tank. Needs restoration. Would consider trade allowance for Saturn overdrive or Ramsey PTO winch and drive for my L6 226 pickup.”

I have over 4500$ invested plus the time to install rear brakes, floor, get running properly etc…the running gear of this truck is what truly drives the value, making it a viable project. “1963 FC 170 Willys Jeep Pickup Title still in original owners name. Original paint, seats, Glass, best example of FC 170 I have every seen. FC was under coated when bought new. Winch was installed by dealer when new. Snow plow was installed at dealer when new. All parts are on the truck. Have open title, all paper work and original owners manual and warranty contract.”

“Rare, Hard to find 1958 Jeep FC-170
Complete original engine, transmission, transfer case, and running gear.
Frame has adapter rails bolted on to make a flat bed, but the frame was not altered.
Dash was removed to install push bars.
Some rust above the windshield.
Unique project that draws a lot of attention.
Very easy restoration project.”
