UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $8000
There’s been a variety of upgrades on this jeep.
“… When we first got this jeep, it was in pretty rough shape and close to 100 holes were filled in on the body from various things being mounted/removed over the years (blackout lights, etc etc) Virtually all of the work to it was done by either myself, my stepbrother, or a pro shop. I cant remember exactly how many miles are on it “after build”, but I’m guessing the motor/rebuilt tranny has about 5k, the brake system (entirely replaced at time of conversion) about 2k, tires about 2k. again, this is a toy that was hardly ever used.
Here’s the parts list: Chevy 305 HO from a mid 80’s Camaro Z28 installed by Joe White’s Performance Automotive (THE place to go back in the day) motor had to be canted and fenders pushed out to make fit. remote oil and fuel filters, extra griffin aluminum racing radiator we never installed comes with it. the motor had less than 500 miles on it when we got it, Corvette clutch and pressure plate in 3 speed manual transmission, factory twin stick transfer case, custom rear drive shaft with CV joint built by Austin Drive Train, factory dana 25 front axle with Warn premium hubs, factory dana 30 rear axle with Detroit Locker, 5.13 gears front/rear, 11″ drum brake conversion all the way around (now it stops right!) with new master cylinder at time of install …..”
(08/26/09)
“46 willys low hood cj3a jeep. new paint forest green. sbc400 w/turbo 400 auto trans and dana 20 trans case. dana 44 rear end, disc brake 30 front end. springs off 76 cj outside of frame in the back. re-inforced frame, power steering, bucket seats, back seat, 33×12.5×15 tires with about 85-90 % tread.MSD ignition,4 core radiator, new dual exhaust, bedliner inside, dual tanks,cb,cd player with marine cover, sealed beam led taillights. jeep is loaded and way cheaper than u could ever build. very nice. Never had a top on other than bikini top. keywords cj, jeep, willys, low hood,”
This looks good.
“Jeep is in excellent running condition. Remanifactured carb. New brake wheel cylinders and new master cylinder. Relined gas tank. Engine and transmissions in excellent condition. Military tires with spare. Many new parts.”
It looks good, but the image compression makes the body look rough.

The flattie looks to be a M-38, so the year should be 1950 or later. The other I’m guessing to be a M-38a1. It’s a bizarre parking job.
“The red jeep ran when i got it 5yrs ago. The drive train worked good too. It has a title. The yellow jeep has the motor taken out of it and is in the back of it same with the front clip. The drive train is good on it though. It dosent have a title. I was gana take the two and make on nice one. And take the rest of the other one and make a trailer for it. I will bring them to denver for you for an extra 300. If you have any questions feel free to ask @ mrdobrinski@gmail.com”
UPDATE: I dropped by the seller’s house today to check this jeep out. Kim’s father is the actual seller and Kim is selling it for him. Both father and son rebuild wagon’s, with Kim specializing in Sheep Wagons (see pic to the right). I suspect the large Basque population in southern Idaho (5th largest community of Basques in the world) fosters this unusual hobby (at least I’ve never seen these anywhere else).
As for the jeep, it turns out to be a pretty stock M-38 that runs. It’s got some rough edges and needs some paint. It’s got the dual battery setup. It could use new seat covers and a new gas tank and a few other items. A professional mechanic has done some work on it and can provide more specific information.
UPDATE: Was $4800.
It looks like a great old M-38.

Some paint will really make a difference with this jeep.

“1951 Willys Jeep. Was running when parked in 1987. Clean Title. Right front wheel will not turn. Some rust. Good project Jeep. Have original wheels. $1000.00 OBO.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2000
The seller lists both 1951 and 1952 as the years of this jeep.
“1951 willys m38 original with windshield, missing radiator, fan, batteries, stored last 8 years in my shop since early 80’s in a barn, never restored,no money need cash but wont give last flat fender”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $5500.
This looks more like a M-38 to me, but I can’t tell conclusively.
“1952 Jeep CJ3A. This jeep has a 1955 F head engine instead of the original flat head engine. I have lots of extra parts I bought at a military auction many years ago. I have a soft top for it. This Jeep has NO rust and ran great last time I went hunting in it which was 1994. it has been stored inside ever since. Even the interior is good. I put in a new gas tank with non corrosive liner. It needs a battery and most likely will need a carburetor rebuild from sitting so long and will have years of trouble free hunting or whatever. It’s not fast (max 50 mph) but it will climb a tree.”
Lots and lots of detailed updates to this rig.
