I wouldn’t mind getting some more shots of this 1958 Civil Defense M-38A1 from the South Plattsburgh Fire Department out of Plattsburgh, NY. This unit serves as their brush truck and currently carries 80 gallons of water, chain saw, hand tools and a booster reel supplied by a 30 gpm pump belt driven off the prime mover engine.
This appears in good shape. It might make a good reproduction project.

Mike spotted this low mileage Jeep. I wonder if the mileage is accurate? hmmm. It sure looks like it would make a good restoration candidate.

UPDATE: **Status Unknown** Was $6000.
This includes a trailer. It looks like a good price. I would think that an accurately restored M-38A1 would have a split windshield?
“great 1952 24 volt Jeep with trailer for sale, registered and on the road”
This looks like a good price on a solid M-38a1 restoration.
“less than 12,000 miles on this perfect jeep. Frame off restoration, starts and runs real nice, a real head turner. I have had this in parades, out 4 wheeling, yes I’ve muddied it up a couple of times, hey it’s a jeep. Contact me for any questions or more pics thanks.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2000.
I can’t tell what’s left to do, but it’s got some good components.
“This is a 1954 Willy’s M38A1. It has a Buick V6 bolted to a Turbo 400 that in turn bolts to a Dana 300 transfer case. The V6 has Hedman headers and HEI ignition set up. This Jeep also has a brand new Hurst shifter set up. It sits on BFG 33-12.50/15 all terrain tires, all tires are in good shape. The front bumper is custom and has a built in tow bar, whoever buys it will be able to tow it away. This was a project that has stalled out. I don’t have room for it, nor the time to finish it. There is work that needs to be finished for it to run. This Jeep will make a good rock crawler platform”
This looks pretty good. Those are some great aluminum slot rims.
“1952 Willys Jeep, runs and drives, new seats, roll bar, new paint…asking $2,000 obo
call (503)816-7301…ask for Brian”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $19,900.
It looks good from a distance. Not a 1951.
“I restored this 1951 Willys Military Jeep with M100 trailer to original condition. Many new parts; brakes, wheels, shocks, exhaust, glass, canvas, seats, new rebuilt engine, transmission, differential, paint, electrical, lights, fording equipment, etc. The jeep is registered and has a clear title. I won a trophy for the class at a local car show this past fall. I would like to sell the jeep and trailer as one unit for $19,900.”
