“Here’s a 1949 willys cj2a that my buddy and I was going to fix up but lost interest. We had it running about 3 years ago I don’t see any reason why it wouldn’t still run, other than it needs a fuel pump. We had sold another jeep about 2 years ago that needed a fuel pump so we just borrowed this one. Over all its not really in that bad of shape considering what I have seen setting around. The undercarriage is real good, and the body isn’t really all that bad. The picture of the left side of the jeep isn’t really that good, but that is paint peeling not rusted out. We do have all 4 original wheels for it but there is only one pictured. The windshield is just the frame , never had a windshield for it. What can I say, look at the pics and if you have any questions or are interested feel free to give me a call. I have sold several of these jeeps in a lot worse condition than this one for the same money. Just would like to get it out of the road. So don’t be afraid to make an offer I just might take it. Original F4 engine, all original except for the roll bar, wheels and tires. Staight body no rust. Comes the hard to find metal hard top that was made by USA Iron Works, and metal doors, has all of the hardware and original glass for hard top and doors. New brakes and master cylinder. All electrical works, street legal, good tags and clean title, 47mph, climbs like crazy! Starts right up and runs really nice. “My uncle owned this Jeep for about 10 years and used it once a year to go from Payette to his cabin out of Council hunting. He then bought a Bronco and parked the Jeep. I bought it from him about 1978 and used it for hunting for about 6 years. Then I bought a pick up. When I got the Jeep I put new tie-rod ends in it and ball joints. It had some broken teeth on the ring gear so I pulled the motor and pressed on a new ring gear. While I had the motor out I went ahead and put in a new clutch, pressure plate, and throw out bearing. I had got this done and was starting to hook up the clutch and adjust it when I had to go to work out of the area for a few years. I parked the Jeep with the idea that I would get back to it but never have. For a number of years I would pull the plugs and put oil in the cylinder and turn it over at least once a year but have not done that for a several years. I have lost the only key I had so I put some oil in the cylinders and jumped the starter and it turn over good a couple weeks ago but have not started it. It all original except it is now 12 volts instead of 6 and someone has replace the tail gate with a solid piece of metal.”

“Up for sale is my 46 Willys jeep cj with a small block chevy 327ci. The conversion was very well done with manufactured conversion plates (not homemade), motor mounts, correct size radiator. This jeep runs and drive great. I have driven it down the Interstate at 70mph no problem (warn over drive makes a huge difference). Over all I would consider it to be in average shape cosmetically and great shape mechanically. At one point in time someone had spend a large chunk of money on it and rebuilt the entire jeep to be a custom. The drivetrain including axles, transfer case and transmission are out of a 1971 jeep, which means it has the very rare DANA 44 with one piece axles. I pulled a valve cover and the engine is very clean which leads me to believe the engine was rebuilt when conversion was done. As far as everything different it has from stock…

– SBC 327 Chevy 
– Aluminum intake 
– 750cfm carb
– MSD coil
– MSD distributor 
– Oversize radiator 
– WARN overdrive

For being a 1946, there is minimal rust. There are no rust holes on the exterior of the body, just a few surface rust spots. The only major rust hole in the jeep is in the floor of the tool box. The paint is not perfect by any means but is not horrible. There are a couple heavy bondo spots. The last issue with the body is the floor boards have kind of been piece together, it is real cheap to buy new floor boards though weld them in. I have brand new Goodyear wrangler tires going on it this next weekend. Also I have a nice one piece steering arm that I will include with it. Jeep only has a bikini top but that’s all you need on a classic. The jeep has been stored inside.”
