“I had this jeep of mine running a few years ago and decided to go lighter in weight with the fiberglass body. The jeep is in pieces, I have all the parts, when this jeep was up and running it was running a modified 350 Chevy motor, 4 speed Muncie transmission, headers, Moroso racing heads, and dual four barrel manifold, custom built four core radiator. I have decided that this project must go. The jeep is not put together; I removed the heads from the motor and stored both of them in my basement. This ad was forwarded by Marc. The seller indicates the “Front 1946 Tag is not included in auction” (very end of description). I’m not sure what that means.
“You are bidding on a restored CJ2A, I have owned this Willys since 2003/2004. I purchased it, drove it about four months; took it apart and cleaned, painted, replaced, busted knuckles, said things I thought I would never say, etc. I finished up about four years ago and have been driving and adding things here and there. I only have put about 100-150 miles on this thing a year, I drive it to the hardware store, to get a haircut, and to work. Since I have had this Willys it has never been in the mud, rain one time (got caught out), never driven on salty winter roads here in the east (have drove in the snow in the field and woods behind the house, goes great) I really hate to sell, but it must go. Below is a list of the stuff I have done, I’m sure I have forgotten some things. I have done everything but the engine rebuild, I had it hired out. I have hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars in this Willys
This Willys runs and drives great, always starts the first time. It has been very dependable
Its not restored for a showroom with everything correct, its done to drive and use.

The body was completely stripped down (body removed from tub) / sand blasted primed with 3 coats of PPG epoxy primer, no body work has been done (there is no filler/bondo/etc. on the body just black primmer)
Original Meyers Half Cab, never painted in original primmer, has original Meyers Sicker. I uncrated this top when purchased. Shown in pics all installed (during summer months I remove the doors and rear glass section, makes something like a bikini top, keeps the sun off your neck)
Original Warn Overdrive Unit (WARN Shift Knob), Works Great – installed with the hard to find/expensive adapter so that the front PTO can be used.
Koenig Front PTO with Winch, Works great removed cable to install winch rope, just haven’t got around to it. (needs break arm, can still use without)

The tub is in pretty good condition, alittle rust here and there typical for an jeep this old, the front floor panel has already been removed. (04/16/2013) It needs a little work, but appears solid. I can’t tell if that’s a sticker on the hood or painted.
“Time to sell my Jeep, havent used it in 3 years and dont have time to finish/fix the little things. Alot has been done and it is very close to being a daily driver. Has a 2.8 ford v-6 mated to original transmission with a hydraulic clutch, upgraded brakes to 11″ wagoneer brakes with master cyl. crossover manual steering with a GM tilt column (key has been shaved off of column) Has LED lighting all hooked to column correctly. Bucket seats, bikini top/half doors and full soft top with full doors. 33″ tires like new, warn upright winch and lots lots more.
Possible trade for Short bed chevy, lowered or not–no 4x4s-any trade MUST be an auto or be only a part trade or will not be considered,

This is a project.
“I have a non running 1947 Willys CJ2A Jeep for sale. It hasn’t ran in 15 or more years, but ran when parked. Motor will turn over by hand. Body is in pretty good condition for it’s age. Also have an extra Willys hood, 5 steel original wheels that appear to be in pretty good condition. Jeep still has original glass parking light lenses and other original parts, windshield frame appears to be in good condition with the exception of moderate rust at bottom of glass, glass is cracked. It’s been sitting outside and is full of leaves. 2 spark plugs broke when I attempted to remove them (to spray oil in cylinders prior to turning motor over). I have not attempted to remove the plugs with anything, they might come out fine with some penetrating oil. Jeep will need work to get running again, but all parts are there and engine compartment is pretty clean. Will make a great deer lease ride. I took this Jeep in trade, but have realized that I will never get around to fixing it up. $1200 cash.
