UPDATE: Was $12,900. **SOLD**
This looks like it has gone through a frame-off restoration. Not totally restored to original condition though.
“Better than New.
Total Frame Off Restoration”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1700
Engine runs, but produces white smoke.
“1949 Jeep Willys
Asking $1,700 OBO. Great Jeep Willys for restoration or hunting.
Body:
1949 Willys body in excellent condition, only small dent on driver’s rear corner. No rust other than normal surface rust as expected. Windshield frame is in good condition, does not have glass.
Interior/Electrical:
All electrical is in working condition (12V). Front seats need re-upholstering but pans and mounts are in good condition.
Engine:
1948 Willys. Engine runs but produces a white smoke. I think it needs new piston rings. I have not opened up to find out. Currently gas tank is pulled (in good condition but pulled to clean interior). Has new plugs and good battery. Will include new oil filter.
Drive train:
4×4 and hub locks work well.
Tires:
In good condition but not original look.
Brakes:
In working condition.”
This doesn’t run. It was a column shift at some point and appears to have all three data plates. Not tool indents are evident though.
“I have a ’46 Willys CJ2a in good condition for sale. It was running smoothly before winter and will need a little tlc to get it back to running after sitting for a few months. Most parts are original, I know for sure the electric has been updated, 2 sets of brakes have been upgraded to disc brakes, gas tank has been replaced, and the column shifter was moved to the floor. I am not a mechanic but you will likely need to do three things to get her back to running: bleed the brakes, charge (maybe replace) the battery and check the fuel line.
Things that I know need work:
Some of the gauges need work, specifically the fuel and speedometer.
There is slight rust, but nothing bad.
I’ve driven it around town without any problems and gone about 40 miles outside of town. Tops out at about 50 mph, so highway isn’t really ideal. There is a tow bar in front, a roll bar over the top and has 4wd using manual locking hubs.
It has been a very wonderful Jeep, and hasn’t given me any issues outside of needing attention more often for being a ’46. I recently started my own business and I hate to just have this antique just sitting around. Antique car insurance is currently running me about 5 dollars a month through state farm. You should be to get similar rates.
Feel free email me, call me or text me at (iii) (i) (viii) (v) (i) (viii) – (i) (ix) (vii) (ii) <- roman numerals to avoid scams
The Price is 4800 or best offer. Serious offers only.”
There might have been some repairs along the bottom of the body, but otherwise this might be a good little jeep.

This has a new body. Not a perfect original restoration, but looks very nice.
“This is a 1946 Willys CJ2A Jeep. I’ve been restoring it for about 6 years now. It has a new metal CJ2A body tub and various other new body parts. I have invested about $9500 in vehicle, body parts, paint, rhino lining, and labor. I’m asking $6,250, but would take any reasonable offer. I’d consider half cash and a trade if it were something that appealed to me like guns, guitars, or something else with wheels to make up the rest of the value. I’m ready to deal. Street legal and much stronger than an ATV.
The 46 Willys is a low geared, 4×4, original flat head 4 banger, stick shift 3 speed. It has been converted from 6v to 12v and has always been pretty much mechanically sound. Top speed is 45-50mph. It can climb paved steep inclines even in third gear with no struggle and can get about anywhere on other terrain in lower gears and 4 wheel drive. It is perfect for the farm or ranch and does well on the state highways, back country roads, hunting trails, and open fields. It is too slow for the interstate. Though it is very much still original, I wanted it to be a daily driver so I installed an additional brake light and turn signals ( not standard for the 46).”
