Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “Selling my long time project 1953 jeep. Almost everything is there to finish it off. Has a buick 231 v6 installed and all original running gear with the addition of a Atlas od. Comes with a centerforce flywheel but will need to be cleaned up. When I first got the jeep it had what looked like a newer body. Clean paperwork and was put on non op years ago. All it really needs is someone with some room and time to finish it off. I’ve got to let it go so bring all reasonable offers.”

“I have a running and driving 1951 flat fender cj3a up for sale. It runs rough, the carb could use a rebuild and the choke cable needs adjusted. The transmission works good. The 4×4 works good. It has a new gas tank, fuel pump and filter. The engine is burning oil and smokes while running. It just started over heating, I’m guessing it needs a new thermostat. The starter is needing to be rebuilt. You can see the condition of the body in the pictures. The frame is in good shape. Clean title.”

It’s time, and it has been decided that we should sell the father /son project that has been around for years. Grandfathers Willys was driven, modified, fixed, used and enjoyed. Lots of trips to the Sierras for club runs, poker runs, and off roading. It has been a great vehicle but 17 years later has now been parked and not driven anymore with all of life’s changes.

This little rig runs great and crawls over just about anything. But, it still needs some things finished on it.

(11/01/2014) Not sure if this is a 2A or a 3A.
“This is (as registered) a 1951 Jeep Willys CJ-2a 4×4. It has a buick V6, 3spd tran, dana 25 and dana 27 running gear. I put a new wiring harness, gauges, LED brake and turn lights, new seat coverings and a por-15 paint job. Included is the tire carrier, spare tire, two gas cans, all spare parts, paint and the rifle rack in the middle. This jeep was used for hunting and is extremely reliable but it also looks good to drive into town. It is currently registered (Nov 2015). You can either drive it home (45-50 mph and a 5 gallon gas tank) or tow it home behind your tow vehicle.
