Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “Willys jeep(( no title)) with Buick 225 V6 , T190 Trans, fiberglass body,aluminum wheels,headers,6 point roll cage, Painless wiring panel, tow bar and engine (low mileage) with aluminum intake. Frame and new fiber glass body are undercoated inside and out Tub is painted “Swift red” while the front end (not pictured but in excellent shape) needs painted. I no longer have time for this project and would like to see it go to an ambitious person. The body consisting of tub, fenders, grille, hood, and windshield are well worth the asking price of the complete vehicle. 2000 Neg. “have a late 40’s Jeep Willys for sale. bought it 6 years or so ago running but burning oil. the body was rotted, holes every where. so i removed the body, removed the Engine assembly (engine, trans, T-case) to do a rebuild on the engine. and was going to restore it with a new body from Jc whitney .com but now a days i dont have any time to do anything with it. so my loss your gain.
it’s been sitting out under the tarp “car port” for the last 6 years has a light coating of rust, nothing to horrible. a few areas in the rear of the frame that need repair but nothing to out of hand. simple work.”

This has a M-38 windshield and I think it has a glove box on the dash, too, so I think it is a M-38 rather than the CJ-3A indicated by the seller. Or, it is a mix of parts.

This is a CJ-3A rather than a “US Army” Jeep. It looks in good condition and comes with hats, too. The seller seems to be a digit short of a full phone number ….

(06/10/2010) “This is a 1953 Willys jeep. I have too many projects, was going to build this, but don’t have time now.
It has a chevy 283 V8 with Mallory solid state ignition, high flow aluminium water pump and a two barrel carb, runs great, plenty of power..
Has new brake master cylinder, good tires(these are new since the pics were taken), needs soft top, doors are good though. Twin stick transfer case and three speed manual trans.
It needs to have the custom sterring box mounted better, it works but flexes more than it should, easy fix…
It also needs to have a VIN inspection, I had one done by a Local cop and that wasn’t good enough, it needs to be by a state patrol. I will garentee that you can get a title but it will be sold on a bill of sale only.
I have a plow for this availible very cheap…
Would make a cool offroad toy, I was going to fit into the bed of my F-350 for hunting…
Body is very rust free for it’s age, I have the willy’s seats, but weren’t comfortable for me so I have a couple bucket seats in it.
I also thought this would be very cool to put a tdi diesel or similar into and get 40mpg in a classic 4×4..”

(04/17/2012) This looks pretty solid, however it appears that the rear wheel wells and rear floor don’t have the original scallop indentations.

I assume it wouldnt take much if anything to get running. original seats, body is pretty solid, slight damage to rear drivers tub but nothing major. Locking front hubs, looks like a Dana 44 rear. I don’t have the keys. Clean title. 1600.00 cash l”

“Due to moving back to Germany i am offering my DJ3A (1963 with title) and a CJ3A chassis with drive train. I really want to give it to the right person. I have both units here in Ft Lauderdale and have to move them quick. About 1500.00 for both but any offer is welcome. The trailer is brand new and can be bought for 2K as well. Engines turn over, DJ3A needs suspension, brakes, floor, tub, fender and door restore as well as upholstery. Not a quick fix. But one of few!”

This vehicle was one of 3 jeeps that belonged to person and had nice weather proof shelter over head appeared not to have been abused or trashed” and limited use because of multiple “toys. This is not a patch plate or bondo special as some of these older Willys on ebay appear to be and even the under pasenger seat utility box is solid(rare). The wind shield frame is very solid as well and this is recurring problem on Willys exposed to elements as well as floor pans.The paint is recent and is enamel OD green and only pic with dog is pre new paint that jeep is currently….”
