UPDATE: SOLD on eBay for $2500 just a few hours after it was listed. This was also listed at $2500 on Craigslist originally, but to my surprise didn’t sell.
This looks in great shape. It still looks like a pretty good price given the condition.
“1950 Willy’s Jeep CJ3A, it has been garage kept in Santa Fe New Mexico for the last several years. The last time the Jeep was registered for the street was 1994. I would recommend a tune up and have the carburetor re-built or cleaned, fluids have been changed, engine oil and anti-freeze, the gas tank was drained and new fuel put in. The Jeep has been converted to a 12-volt system and still uses a generator. There is an electric wiper on the driver’s side and a manual wiper on the passenger’s side. It has locking hubs and they work fine. The engine is not the original, and does leak some oil, probably from sitting and not being run for the past few years. The transmission shifts fine and does not pop out of second gear at all; the transfer case also shifts with no problems. ….. As far as payment: If you have any questions please email or call me and ask, I will do my best to answer them or you.
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay.
The GPW looks in the best condition, followed by the M-38 (incorrectly listed as a CJ-3A) and then the CJ-3A.
“I am selling my hobby because of a line of duty accident that has left me with no other option. these jeeps were bought at an estate auction and they only have a bill of sale, because they have always been government owned before the last owner. The CJ3A was started on a off frame overhaul and the body was set back on to sell. The GPW is as I purchased it they both ran and drove off the trailer. the last one is just parts. thank you for your interest, this pains me to do this but I have no other choice.”
UPDATE: The winner of this auction for the low price of $1575, Joe reports he brought a new battery with him when he picked up the jeep, stuck it in the jeep and the jeep fired right up. He then drove the jeep right on to the trailer. He’s a happy camper about now. Congrats!
“1950 WILLYS JEEP in running condition. It needs brakes, has oversized tires, original spare tire and needs some body work. It would be good for running around the farm or woods, used for parts or restore it. The mileage listed may not be correct although it has not had many miles put on in the last 40 years, mostly just offroad around the property here.”
UPDATE: Pics provided and price dropped to $2995
Appears mostly original, except for the CJ-2A windshield.
“THIS JEEP RUNS GOOD I DRIVE IT ALOT. I AM ASKING $2950.00 O.B.O. CALL WITH ANY QUESTIONS. 620-432-3518.”
UPDATE: Still Available. This looks like a great price on a solid looking trail jeep.
This seller is also selling a GPW.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2500.
It runs but doesn’t stop. I think this is a CJ-3A with a 2A windshield.
“1952 Jeep Willys, ready for restoration. Pretty solid body and frame compared to most Jeeps of this vintage. Motor runs great and transmission on tranfsercase shift well. This Jeep will need brake work and will need to be trailered”
I’m not sure whether this runs or not.

This is a CJ-3A that’s been nicely altered into a M-38 clone.
“1953 M38 CLONE, Rust free, 225 V6, Over drive,”
It’s certainly a clean, nice looking rebuild.

UPDATE: The winning bid was $3600, which surprises me a bit given the rotted tires and top and the dented body.
“1951 Willys Jeep w/ 4 wheel drive. I am told it is a CJ3A ?? This is Barn fresh. Stored away for years!! The body is in good condition. Some dents and dings. Was hit in the left rear quarter at sometime. There is no cancer. The floors are great!! No dents in the tailgate or the floor. Motor is free. Turns over. The gas is old. Tires are dry rotted. This is a great one to restore. This is for pickup only!”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $500.
It looks like someone just plopped a body onto a GM frame (truck maybe).
“willys not msure of the year but. has gm 44 front and gm 14 bolt rear. 33,12.50 tires 16.5 searil # ca398873”

“1951 willys cj 3a 34,8xx miles runs perfect drives great a wonderful flatfender no signs of damage to the body still 6 volt everything works. this jeep is a very nice original piece it has no extra holes cuts or tears with some minor cosmetics it would be parade or show ready. The underneath of the body is a nice as the top all the floor structure is perfect. there is 3 minor places of rust passenger floor(from heater core leak) l/h side of body at gas tank and at r/h taillight all would be an easy fix. I am the 3rd owner it has always been in eastern wa. It has had 1 repaint (was originally Luzon Red). It also comes with a Koenig 1/2 cab with orignal door panels headliner and hardware back window is broke it was stored in a barn for the last 30 + years. The jeep is brown and the cab is orange.”

There appears to be some stainless parts on this. It might be a good value.
“1953 Willy’s Jeep, Original 4 cylinder flat head motor. Rebuilt with only 10,000 miles. Warn overdrive, Rancho shocks and Rancho 3 inch lift kit, converted from original 6v to 12v.30in BF Goodrich all terrian tires, chrome tail gate and heavy duty chrome front bumper. runs great, must sell.”
It doesn’t run, but appears complete. Based on the year, I’d say this is a CJ-3A, but the bow holders on the driver’s side suggest CJ-2A.
“It’s a pretty great jeep. I really, REALLY hate having to sell it but, as we all know the economy sucks. Anyways, about the jeep: Of course it doesn’t run it’s been sitting for about 2 years, under cover about 1 year 6 months. Mostly electrical work is needed, and I imagine there is a load of work to be done under the hood. Ran and drove 2 years ago. Stock cover is still in great condition, just needs a thorough wash. Interier is dusty and smelly. Hundreds of extra parts laying around. (Doubles of what’s on the jeep already). NOT a parts vehicle, or un-finished project. Just needs a good strong elbow or two on her for a while.
Will most likely need all 4 new tires, but they haven’t been filled with air in a long time so they might still work, who knows Lol. All are welcome to take a look if you like, shoot me an offer first and we’ll see where we can go from there.”
The body could use a new pan.
“Great little Jeep that has had much work done. Around $4500 spent (all receipts included) – New brake system – cylinders and pipework, exhaust, radiator, gas tank, seats, brake and speedo cables, NDT tires, black powder coated rims. Engine fully rebuilt at proffessional engine shop. Everything done to original 1950 Willys Jeep spec and repro parts used. Needs bodywork, gauges and electical harness installed to complete….”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2300.
This looks like a good price.
“Great deal. need to sell a 1950 Willys jeep, original 4 cylinder motor, 1 barrel carburetor, great 4×4 vehicle for restoration. Asking for $2300.00 will consider only reasonable offers!!!”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay.
This looks mostly stock. So, the engine smokes like all old jeeps do, but the jeep is in great running condition? Is there a tiny disconnect there?
“This is a 1952 Willy’s CJ3-B. This is a civilian jeep that was purchased from a farm in New Mexico. When we got the jeep it was all there. It had no rust and was running (poorly but running) and the breaks didn’t work at all. The jeep has been straightened and painted and it is all metal. There is no bondo on this jeep the body was straight except for a few dents that were removed by the body shop with out using filler with all the original sheet metal. It had the original paint on it when we got it. To prevent the paint on the inside from getting damaged we had them put a “spray on bed liner” type material down on the inside of the tub and inside the fender wells that is the same color as the paint. The head gasket on the original (to my knowledge) flat head motor was replaced. The head was machined smooth and the deck was prepped. Brakes were torn down and repaired and function as they did in 1952. The jeep is in great running condition and can be seen locally by appointment. It runs and drive fantastically. It smokes a little sometimes like all old jeeps do. We are located in Wingate just out side of Monroe North Carolina.”
UPDATE: Price dropped to $5000
(10/11/09) I’m not sure what’s on the hood.
“This jeep is in excellent condition. Has bucket seats, strong running four cylinder motor, three speed standard transmission and a great heater. Comes with four 600/16 studded snow tires, ice chains, and a full soft top with doors. Great winter work vehicle and tons of fun in the summer. Reasonably priced. Call 406-461-6894”
I’m guessing this is a CJ-3A. It will be going up for auction. Those are the most unusual doors I’ve ever seen.
“To be sold at Auction. If you would like more information email tiger@tigerauctioneering.com or call 208-503-0235 and place your bid.”
