Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “For Sale 1968 Jeep Jeepster Willys Commando freshly restored, super clean inside and out. This Jeep has the CJ5 front clip conversion, which gives it more of the traditional Jeep look. It has the 3.8 liter 225 cubic inch V6 and manual transmission, runs and drives well. It has high back Jeep wrangler seats, front seats have sliders, front passenger folds forward, rear seats folds down and folds forward. It has new 16″ Ion wheels, matte black and machined finish and 305-70-16 (33×12.50-16) Toyo MT tires which are about 50% or better tread.
The radio does not work, and there is a tow bar installed on the front bumper. We do have and are not including a top with the Jeep, we don’t have one, it has always been stored in our garage. The next owner can modify as they choose, add a roll cage and a soft top, or find and install a factory hard top. This Jeep has much more room than a CJ5, and would make a great beach cruiser, dune rider, or just to have up your cabin for hunting and fishing. Clear AZ title signed and notarized, located in Buckeye, AZ 85326. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer, we may be able to assist in locating a carrier or possibly deliver for an additional fee.”

“1949 Jeepster in need of restoration. I have most of the hard to find parts. It needs floorboards as these have rusted out, but new ones can be found on ebay and other places. It has some rust but I think it is a project worthy of the attention. I did not know the floor was rusted when I bought it, they had put metal signs over it and covered it with carpet. I have a flathead 6 and 3 speed tranny. The frame for the top is stored along with heater and other parts. I also have a flathead 4 with tranny in a 1948 station wagon if that was of more interest.”

This looks like a nice Jeepster Commando for the price.
“1971 Jeepster Commando 83k, Buick V6, 4 speed manual, 4wd, runs, drives, stops. Not perfect, but in really good shape, drives like a Jeep should. Larger than the old CJ’s so it’s definitely more stable. White hard top, Kayline (black) soft top, hell creek suspension, 31″ tires, with brand new spare not even mounted yet, Mickey Thompson wheels, front disc brakes, spare tire carrier – included but not mounted. Black hi-back seats in front with folding seat in rear. New Battery, Alternator, Voltage Regulator, transmission mount. Not exactly a rare thing but definitely uncommon. Currently tagged as an antique.”

“Willys Jeepster 1950. Just rebuilt engine, new radiator, new gas tank, runs great! New top. New wiring harness. Interior no cuts, gauges don’t work except speedo and trip. Lights, blinkers work. Needs paint! Tires plenty of tread but are older. Windshield wipers don’t work (cable needs replacing)”

“This 1969 Jeepster Commando has been restored to a high level of quality, with many performance enhancements. Low production (1450) in the last year that Kaiser made the Jeep. Features include 252 CID V6 with Edelbrock Performer intake and camshaft, New Holley 4 Barrel carb, Unilite distributor, Turbo 400 automatic transmission, Front Dana 30 open knuckle pow er lock,dual clutch posi with auto locking hubs, rear axle Dana 44 Detroit locker, 4 wheel disc brakes, New Springs, New Shocks, New Sway Bar, New Power Steering, New Fuel Tank, New Weather stripping, New Upholstery, New Carpet, New Glass. In addition I have added a Multi-zone alarm system, and a New Stereo CD Radio with Bluetooth. The Paint is new, as are the tires. The engine compartment is nicely detailed with chrome accents. “I have two jeepsters I would like to sell as I would rather own a willy pickup instead. My original plans was to build a street rod roadster form these. Now I have changed my mind. The first one is a 1950, and it is more complete than the other one. It has a 4 cyl engine and need restored. There is some rust. but not bad for one from this area. I have seats and the top bows are there.
The second one is a 48, with the flat grille, I DO NOT HAVE A TITLE FOR THIS ONE, BUT I COULD DO THE PAPER WORK TO GET ONE EASILY. The body is not in as good of shape, but is fixable if someone wanted to. The previous owner has put a straight axle under the front end, for I am guessing to make a gasser style hot rod. it has a positive track 10 bolt chevy rear end also. There is a 289 ford engine and transmission that has been rebuilt according to previous owner. I will post the pics of the 50 first, and the 48 second. email if interested.”

“1950 Willy Overland Jeepster, an older restoration done over 20 years ago but still looks nice. It runs and drives nice, except 2nd gear pops out of gear when you release pressure off the accelerator pedal. I am not a mechanic but I think it may need a clutch adjustment. Excellent condition top and side curtains, no holes or rips. Nice black and red exterior and interior. New tires with Willy’s hubcaps. Converted to 12 volt for convenience. Priced very fair for a collector and fun classic car. I will be posting pictures in a few days or so. No low ball offers please! ”
