Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. You know, it’s just occurred to me I’ve never ridden in a jeepster (that I remember).
“Dark Red 1950 Willys Jeepster Conv,. Totally restored and rebuilt within the last few years. Jeepster mainly used for parades. Good top and side curtains. 6 cyl, 3 speed, 12 volt. Nice, runs & drives great.”
Here’s another nice Jeepster.
“I have for sale a 1949 Willys Jeepster in need of a good home. Has been garage kept and is rust free. I don’t have the time to give the attention this vehicle deserves. Everything on this vehicle is original, except the top and seat covers which are in good condition. It also comes with the side windows. It has: “Flat Head 4″ Three on the tree manual transmission. Optional overdrive. Previous owner was going to make into hot rod until he found out everything was original. Pulled gas tank to use as template and didn’t put back on correctly, so gas tank has loose connection after going down bumpy road and leaking on garage floor. Haven’t driven in a year, but started and ran great after buying new battery and installing new tune up kit. The only other issue with this vehicle is needing a new paint job and new tires. Here’s an unusually themed Jeepster.
“This is one neat old Rod. It’s on a s10 blazer frame. Its got a 305 4bbl w/turbo 350 trans. PS, PDB,Tilt Steering.8″X15″ rallys on rear, 7″s on the front. Runs and drives great. Has headlights,taillights and brake lights. Oil,Temp,Fuel and Volt gauge. Its painted up with Beetle Bailey Camp Swampy theme.”
I’m not a big fan of the smaller wheels up front, but it’s pretty hot looking otherwise.
“This is a 1949 Jeepster with a 440 six pack motor. Has been in the family for 50 years. Has been kept inside at all times. I am selling because I have no time to drive it and enjoy it, hopefully someone else will enjoy it as much as I did when I had the time. The car has a mopar 440 six pack engine, bored 0.60 over, has large racing cam, carborators have jet kit put in them, 727 transmission with shift kit, 3000 stahl convertor. Pictures show car with 4 barrel no six pack ….”

“Selling our 1949 Willy Jeepster. It’s a project car, it was given to us and we really don’t know much about it. We don’t have the time or money to make it a driveable vehicle. It has been garaged for the last three years. Four wheel drive. It is a convertible, there is hardware for the soft top. There is an extra hood that is in better condition than the one currently on it. The tires are practically brand new”
For some reason, this jeepster attracted my attention. I’ve seen other nice jeepsters, but the prices on them are normally much higher.

Here’s a barn find. If the rust situation isn’t bad (and that’s a big if), then this might be a good project. Slim on details.
