“I have a 1949 Willys Overland Jeepster project car that I can’t complete due to a back and neck injury. The car is disassembled for restoration. All parts are bagged and tagged with photo documentation and comes with the maintenance manual. Powered with a 6 cyl Hurricane engine coupled to a 3-speed manual transmission with overdrive. The body has new floors and rocker panels installed along with repaired rear wheel wells. There is no rust on the body. If interested, I could share a link that shows the process of disassembly. This would make a great nostalgic camp car for the right person.”
Has some updates.

“1951 Willys Jeepster Resto-mod powered by a rebuilt 1955 Ford 312 with rebuilt automatic transmission, Mustang II Independent Front Suspension, Front Disc Brakes, and new Dual Master Cylinder. Rack and pin steering, reinforced frame (to handle the extra torque), 12-volt conversion. Painted Kelsey Hayes Wired Wheels.
Full restoration of the body. Distressed metal removed and new welded in place.
Painted in 1955 Ford ‘Seafoam Green and Black’, which is absolutely stunning.
All new interior, done by the Jeepster Man in New Jersey.
This drives like a modern car, with plenty of power to go and stop. You will not see another one in this condition on the East Coast.”

“1949 Willys Jeepster
Another car from my parents collection. They purchased it over 15 years ago from Idaho. Someone did a great job with the later model change over V8 and Auto Transmission, 400 Pontiac Engine. Looks like console and some interior also came from a Pontiac Firebird.
2 wheel drive. We did a minor freshen up restoration including cleaning fuel lines, new brake lines, new battery and new distributor.
No Rust! Convertible Top and Interior are very clean and well taken care of. Starts, Runs and Drives Great.
Really fun convertible car. Prices right. No DISAPPOINTMENTS!”
Runs and drives. Powered by Ford.

“This very rare 1950 Willys Jeepster is one of only 5,845 cars built this year. A total of 19,132 Jeepsters were ever made in the years 1948, 1949, and 1950. Compare that to the one year numbers of the 1965 Mustang at 559,451 cars, and you can see just how rare they are. This one is a real Unicorn, because it has zero cancer anywhere I have looked. The areas where they typically rust are just beautiful. The power is from a more modern Ford; it is a 2.3 Liter overhead cam engine that runs very well, and has considerably more horsepower than the original Flathead 4, plus it has Electronic Ignition and a new 60 amp Alternator. The transmission is a freshly rebuilt C-4 3 speed automatic. The original fuel and amp gauge work great as do the aftermarket Oil, Water, and Amp Gauges. The top is in decent condition; just needs a window sewn in. No side curtains, but they are easy to come by. To be a 35K show car it will need new paint and some work done to it, but you can drive it home as it is! This is a real bargain at 8500.”
Has updated powertrain.

It’s a very cool old car, still needs some finishing, stock seats have new covers, needs a new top, door panels and some finishing, paint has some scuffs but I like that look, possible trades for same value, family boat plus cash or part classic car trade considered 14,500obo”

“1948 Willys Jeepster, motor is of an original style and may be correct for the car, paint is adequate and seats and top are good, body and frame are solid, it is said to run and drive – 1988 Jaguar, 2000 Mercedes Benz and 1948 Willys Jeepster have all been stored in climate controlled building.”
Might be a good price if it runs and drives as advertised.

This unique 36-page Jeepster sales tool aimed at the Willys-Overland sales force likely underscores a general lack of understanding about the Jeepster. It was a different enough vehicle from the utilitarian wagons, trucks and universal jeeps that the sales force may have had a challenge selling it to their standard clientele. That’s the only reason I can think that W-O created this document. I have not seen similar documents for other models.
Note that at one point the document argues that the Jeepster is NOT a convertible and NOT a sedan, but a SPORTS PHAETON. Bill pointed out to me that, like him, I always pronounced Phaeton “Fay-ton”, with an accent on the first syllable. However, he saw a newsreel the other day and the voice-over pronounced it more like ‘Fay-et-on’ or ‘Fay-uh-ton; distinctly three syllables.
Moreover, the dictionary suggests that a Phaeton is pretty much a convertible or a touring open air car, rooted in a word for an open air four-wheeled wagon. Perhaps some more knowledgeable can distinguish between a Phaeton and a convertible??
Some of these pages worked better when shown together, so I’ve sewn together a few of them …
Could be worth a look at this price.

” Sir Ed Griffin has to sell his 1949 Jeepster, V8 engine, has new tires, 2 sets of hubcaps, a new top, needs a little TLC it has been sitting for about a year. He is asking $4750.00 or make him an offer.”
This seller has a Jeepster Convertible ($3900 … and looks pretty solid) and a Jeepster Comando ($3000), both projects, that he’ll sell for $6000 combined.
https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/630553621215872/
“Yellow jeepster commander did run and drive solid frame and floors needs restoration mostly body work and cosmetics $3000 . The second Jeep is a 1965 jeepster alot more rare does not run but come with an extra motor and for the most part besides needing a top and body work is pretty solid as well. I would 3900.00 for that one. These are an older version of a Jeep cj or Jeep Wrangler unlimited. Really cool and worth big money once they are restored. I will sell the pair for 6000.00 cash no less just make them go away. Please no low ball offers”
Looks complete. Maybe the rust isn’t too bad?
