“Running 1941 willies army jeep. It needs a new paint job and seats. Email me for pics and details. Thanks.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2700
(08/01/2013) I am guessing that body is fiberglass. The running gear looks military.
“1942 WILLY’s 2A WITH A 2.3 FORD ENGINE THAT RUNS GREAT.
ASKING $3,500 OBO”
UPDATE: **Sold** Was priced at $1500.
Marty spotted this old racer with a f-head. It’s got the old mini-terras, the mismatched rims, patched body panels, and a hole in the hood (who needs a scoop for racing?). Looks like a fun little rig.
“I have a 1944 willys jeep for sale. It ran when parked but has been sitting for 2 yrs. It has an f head 4 cylinder and 4 speed with depend t case wich means you can select front, rear, and 4 wheel drive. The rear end is locked. It was an old race jeep and would take a bit of work to be street legal again. Would be a cool wheeler project. It does have windshield frame not in pic though.”
This includes an inline flathead 6.
“1943 Willis with flat head six engine. Great project!!!!”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1200
This has a MB/GPW Body. The rear axles appear to be military, too.
“1948 Willy’s Jeep Project
4 Cyl overhead valve engine
Original 3-speed transmission
Over $1000 of wheels and tires”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1100
It’s a parts jeep.
“No motor. Has front and rear end and transfer case. Has a transmission, but it is out of an M38 jeep. No pink slip. This is a parts jeep.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $18,344.
“Complete Restoration of this beautiful 1942 Willy’s Jeep. This is an excellent restoration job!! Mounted in the jeep is a replica 50 Caliber gun. Call anytime for details on this hard to find Jeep. This Jeep runs great! No issues.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** WAs $600
“1943 willys mb with cj2a grill. Titled as a MB. Does not run. Lots of rust was going to restore but lost interest. Make offer”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1200
This is a mix of MB/GPW parts and CJ-2A.
“I have basically a complete 1946 CJ2A that is completely disassembled. I restored a 1943 GPW for a guy and have this parts Jeep leftover. Almost everything is there, but it is a major project or parts for your project. Have an Iowa title, but can not find a VIN on the frame. Usually not a problem with these older Jeeps.”
No pics provided.
“1942 Willys Jeep

(06/23/2013) It appears to have an early gas tank.
“world war II 1944 MB Willy’s Jeep.

Runs GREAT!”
It sounds like this has the original motor or an F-head.
“2.2L 2197CC 134Cu. In. l4 GAS L-HEAD Naturally Aspirated”
This looks to be a CJ-2A column shift drivetrain topped with a MB/GPW body. I suspect the drain holes were added later. The front bumper is odd.
“1946 WILLYS CJ2A, VIN NO. CJ2A30868A, this is an early column shift, it has what appears to be a WWII composite body, a jeep guy told me that he thought they used left over WWII jeep body parts on very early CJs. It could be, as it has the CJ factory drain holes in the sides, the glove box opening shows no lid or box ever being installed, the rear tool boxes show no signs of ever having a lid installed. Maybe someone can verify that information.
The previous owner stated the engine was rebuilt, it starts quick, runs smooth and does not smoke and has 25-30 psi oil pressure.
Has been changed over to 12 volt electrics with alternator, windshield wiper, turn signals, stop lights, headlights, electric fuel pump.
Starts, drives and stops, new gas tank, 4 wheel drive works good, transmission works, but nosy in 1st and reverse and sometimes hard to shift (you can’t shift fast), second and third is quiet and shifts smooth, steering is tight and holds good running down the road, did not jump out of second, suspension is pretty quiet and it has like new tires that are balanced. Roll bar is bolted on, so removing would be easy. It has indoor carpet, but appears to have no rust through.
Just registered (has black sticker which means it has no liability ins.) and new correct title will be in this week.
It is ready to go play and not worry about messing up the rattle can paint job (so it would be one color, not several). The seats are after market, but easier to get in/out and have more belly room.”
This is part of an estate sale.

(03/01/2013) This doesn’t run at the moment, but it could be a minor issue.
“I am looking to sell our 1943 WWII Army Jeep. Before we owned it, it belonged to my Grandfather. He was a Captain in the US Army during WWII, and in later years purchased the same year military jeep that he used during the war, and had it restored. It was in good running condition up until the time he passed away. We have owned it now for 5 years. It is not running at this time, but I believe that it is from sitting the past few years. It has been garage kept. We also have the original manuals for the jeep. This has been a very hard decision for us to make, so ONLY SERIOUS INQUIRIES will be considered.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay.
This has the APU hood. Unclear if this was a converted APU flattie or if the hood was added later to this flattie. Only half hour left in the auction:
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $4500
It hasn’t been run in 5 years.
“1942 Military Jeep (Willy’s) Been in family since 1968.
Hasn’t been started in 5 years. Ready for restoration.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $9450.
sI’m not sure what a “Jeep Master” is? The seller has some history on this jeep’s travel to Japan and back.
“For sale is 1942 Jeep Master. Given that it was built in 1942; it is an army Jeep. Jeep was manufactured by Willy’s overland motor company. Truck is a 3/4 ton with improved F-head engine (still have original engine and will be included with price) with 16, 171 miles although an estimated 90k miles are on the body. Truck is 4WD with a floating axle. Great story on this car. Traveled to Japan where it had its transfer case replaced in 1952. (have receipts) From there it rested at a boy scout camp in Arizona. After this a friend purchased in in 1960 and sold to me in 1968 where I have owned it since. Truck runs well but needs a restoration man to achieve her full potential. Asking $9,450. Willing to hear offers. Delivery possible”
Doug forwarded this link. No obvious rust. This might be worth a look.

(03/02/2013) This looks like a fun rig. The grille looks installed at a slight angle.

I will deliver each within 25 miles of Kingston for an additional $25. Got to pay for the gas. I also have an early 1940’s GPW If you are interested.”
Update: **SOLD** Was $16,500.
Here’s another nice looking restoration, but it has a GPW body (or at least tool lids).
“1944 Willys MB. Body off restoration about 10 years ago. Original body and chassis. Excellent condition, tow dolly included.”

It has some MB and GPW parts.
“Rare Army jeep with Willys frame and Ford GPW body. Just had the entire brake system redone. Runs and drives well. A great WWII military Jeep. Has a tow bar that can be easily removed and a 12 volt system.”
