“Very rare 1942 Willys ‘Slat Grill’ MB with original numbers matching 4 cylinder 60 hp, 134ci L-head ‘Go Devil’ engine with only 1660 miles on it!. Only 200 ‘slat grills’ are estimated to have survived through 2006, according to Army Motors, the official magazine of the Military Vehicle Preservation Association. The last Willys Slat Grill was S/N 125807 – this one is SN 124833 and was delivered to the US Army on March 5, 1942. A full frame-off rebuild was completed in 2009 and she has appeared at hanger dances, parades, Veteran Day’s events, air shows, and USO shows. This is a true show vehicle and not something you take to the bush for hunting. It comes complete with an all canvas top, shovel and axe attached to the side, upgraded brakes, a 12 volt electronic ignition system, and a copy of a M1 Automatic Carbine on the dash. This is a true gem and is garaged – does not sit outside in the weather. A rare opportunity to get a piece of history. Soon enough these will only be found in museums or in private collections. This is a very low mileage original 1945 Willys MB Jeep. I purchased this Jeep from the original family in 2005. It was in a heated storage area for the last 35 years. The Jeep was still in the crate when purchased. I am the second owner of this fine piece. This MB still has all original canvas seats cushions, crash pads, door straps, original data plates and the original windshield glass (with dates). The Jeep also has all (5) of its original Goodyear tires with the synthetic S3 markings. “We are selling an un-restored 1945 Willys MB. It has been stored indoors for the past 8 years and is definately in great condition overall. Jeep is a late World War II production with a mixture of Ford and Willys parts. Jeep is complete without any cutouts or modifications to frame or body. Body is structurally sound and solid. (Found Small Cutout near Fuel Filter-see Photos) Usual but minor rust/rot along gas tank tub of body running from front mud guard to rear wheel well. Also Hat Channel Rot. Basic cut and patch. Bumper gussets are original and intact with minor welds from having attached bar stock for a tow bar. See detailed pix Dash is complete and uncut. Only a civilian on/off key and Lighter have been added. Glove box door with original plate included. All 3 seats are original and included including 3 cushions. Rear cushon is zippered and contains the orignal canvas mud doors. Windshield is not original but a good repro. I removed the original glass and mounted to the new frame and is included T-84 tranny in excellent shape. Ford stamped Pintle hook was original to jeep

(06/14/2012) Well, this has an unusual history.
“This Jeep Willys Overland MB 1946 was purchased from an Italian Army Surplus Sale during the sixties, subsequently the car was restored for my late Mother by Carrozzeria Pavesi Rolls Royce and Bentley, Milano, Italy. The restoration was focused on making a glamorous car with all original parts, just the roof and side panels are a work of art…. The dashboard was fitted with a wood panel to increase the good look and the original plates where fitted to the glove compartment box door instead of the engine compartment. The car is fitted with a Webasto gas heather for cold climates. The car was stationed in St. Tropez, France for many years and then was sent to the Swiss Alps in St. Moritz where it stayed until I imported it into the US in 2003. It is a great car, all systems works very good, steering, brakes, engine, etc… it would make a great addition to a Summer/Winter Home, it is great on snow, beats any modern car…. The attention to details in this car is fabulous.”

(08/16/2012) “Selling 1945 fully restored reproduction, military style, military tires and gages, parade quality Willys Jeep. Don’t have much for details as the restorer passed away. Need to sell. Runs and drives. Fully waterproofed as well, spark plugs etc. Make the drive and come check it out. There are also plenty of other old Jeep parts and a whole other Jeep lying around. All must go, all for sale. ”

“It’s unfortunate that I have to sell this Jeep, but with a 3, 1 year old, and a third one due in a week, I just don’t have the time to finish this project.
It was purchased last year, and all I’ve managed to accomplish with my spare time was painstakingly remove the civilian paint in order to expose the windshield markings, original hood numbers, and the original OD. I also collected some missing parts. This is a rare “matching” numbers 1943 Willys MB with original tags and markings.
Frame: MB215454
Nomenclature Plate: MB215454
Engine: MB230240
Hood Number: 20308931
I’m really looking for someone who will appreciate the originality of this Jeep and not attempt to strip and do a frame-off restoration.
A few details:
The paint is about 90% original OD. I removed spots of bondo on front lip of the hood, side handles and section of rear panel. The bondo was there to cover minor dents NOT rust areas. Using about four shades of OD, I managed to blend and age the new paint with the original.
– Based on the license plates, the Jeep is no longer in the California DMV System. The previous owner lost the title long ago. I can only provide a Bill of Sale.
– Original “split” front seats and rear seat came off another 1943 MB. All three are solid. The rear is the best one I’ve ever come across.
– Minor rust through in the passenger-side channel (shown in photo)
– Rear “V” brace and bumper have been replaced, but cleanly done to look original
– Motor is seized, but no visible cracks in typical areas
– Four combat rims that originally came with the Jeep. The red civilian rim on the front driver-side is not included
– The previous owner had the spare tire mounted on the rear passenger side. He welded a piece of pretty good chunk of metal for support. Fortunately, the original sheet metal is still underneath it. Cut, grind down, primer and paint . . . and it’s good to go.
– Original pair of SEELITE bulbs. The topbow I purchased at Tower Park earlier this year. The seller told me it’s a repro, but it sure does have a nice patina. Other than that, EVERYTHING on the Jeep is original”
