Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “1945 Bantam Trailer. Located in Wakefield, LA, just north of St. Francisville. Data tag reads TC-3 278
Floor has been replaced. No rust. Wired for 4-wire trailer connector. Still has 1 7/8″ Fulton coupler. Tires hold air and have a fair amount of tread but do show some cracking.”

(06/05/2020) “M416 Original as far as I can tell,Lights are missing and rear panel of trailer is missing as seen in picture. Trailer had been garaged from what I was told and not used for many years. I have a copy of the government trailer manual as well.
This isn’t jeep-related, but can you imagine towing this behind a jeep? Ann spotted this Atomic-themed camper from Alaska. It even has a ‘ray gun’.

UPDATE: SOLD. Was $950.
This includes four combat rims. It’s a little different from the standard jeep trailer.
“Military army trailer from the late 40’s. Originally used to haul the generator for a mobile radar system. Trailer is made by Trailmobile-Lapeer. Has 4 Willys Jeep WW2 combat rims. (Red wheel/tire does not go with trailer, I have the 4th combat rim, tire is shot) Has jacks on all 4 corners to level on uneven ground. Trailer is designed to connect in series with other trailers like a train. Would also make a good anti- aircraft battery base! Looking to move this quickly… $950 cash”

UPDATE: Status Unknown. These jeeps were listed in the Farm & Garden section of Craigslist, so the ad was likely flagged for that reason.
Seller has 2 M-38s and 3 CJ-2As for sale. The pics are upside down in the post.
“2 M38’s, 3 cj2a’s, 1 ww2 trailer.
#1- 49 cj2a, just rebuilt engine, body in good shape ( minor rust in tool compartment and passenger floor. New gas tank, good tires and seats. Drivers good,4 wheel works great. Needs the following, no brakes ( need complete rebuild, carburetor work (I think just break down and cleaning). Has flat spot. Can’t find title bill of sale only. Great fun little jeep. $ 4550.00.
#2- 1950 M-38 Complete less seats, was running when parked (4 years ago). Has original engine converted to 12 volt. ( have most of 24 volt parts)
Drive train complete. Have title and will make bill of sale. M38’S are getting hard to find , won’t last long . Asking $ 3500.00
#3 – 50 m38, all parts are there. Started to disassemble to restore but lost interest. Was running when parked , no windshield or seats. Asking $2550
#4 CJ2A all part are there, has been setting for many years. Has a aluminium top. Needs a lot of work or a great parts jeep, $ 1100.00 bill of sale only. Still trying to find title.

This creative trailer looks to be the rears of two early CJ-5 tubs welder together, both with tailgates at both the front and back, capped with a Koenig hardtop, plus some additional customization. Looks like it does the job.

Diego’s father bought this jeep (1958 CJ-5) and trailer in Argentina in the late-1950s/early-1960s. The trailer lacks data plates and Diego has no idea who manufactured it. I don’t recognize it. Does anyone else?

“I recently acquired a 1966 Jeep trailer. Has minor BATTLE damage in the form of a couple bullet holes. All original military. Never restored or repainted. Has lights and wiring harness and brakes. Pintle attachment. Pulls good. Will have a NEW set of off road tires installed. 16” Military rims. No through rust, just minor surface rust. Perfect Jeep off-road utility trailer.”
Roger Martin spotted this trailer, which looks to be a Ben Hur model. It’s only 40 miles from him. He’s generously offered to pick it up for someone if they are interested.

“Mechanically and structurally restored while preserving its nearly 70 year old patina. New wiring, lights and reflectors – exactly match originals. Rusted areas on the box were cut out, fresh steel welded in, frame was reinforced with extra cross rails and a treated lumber deck was installed.
Canopy tops are available for these to make it an all weather, off road adventure hauler. Very solid, nice towing… its a great little trailer that is very unique and gets a lot of attention.”
