“Not sure exactly what I have here yet. I’m a car guy and have never seen one of these. This Willys is a very rare bird. I do not have a title. Lost in Korea I guess. It is obtainable. Spent the last 30 years on the ranch. Well taken care of but hasn’t run in years. It was fine when the owner parked it 10 years ago in his barn. He was then killed when his tractor flipped on him helping his neighbor. Yea, very sad story. It has the Ford 134ci 4 banger. I don’t know if it has the PTO under the body. I drug it out and put it on my property near Jasper Texas. This Willys needs to be in a military collection. If you are serious, I will be dragging it back to my shop in Kingwood next week. Clearly, the fuel system needs flushed, a battery, tune, oil, and Ill bet she fires right up. This price is an as is price. This is not my money. It is for the widow. Any insight will be appreciated. Ill know you are serious when you call me. Thank you for your interest. Willys on the tail gate, Jeep on the fender. This model was made in addition to the CJ2 in 1950. Willys sold the rights to put Jeep on it in 1953. In 1955 the official CJ5 was introduced. Again, I haven’t had time to crawl through it. She will run drive and stop with a little attention. Enjoy fellas….K The blue Jeep is not it. The green one is. I found that pic on the innerweb…The other pics are just cool and sadly not mine. ENJOY….”

“This is a very nice original military unit, body is very good, runs and drives great, has a brand new brake system, if it is related to brakes it is new, nothing was left out. Runs like a new one, all front undercarriage and steering is new, just get in and drive the hell out of it, military markings and an original ww11 helmet goes with it. call me and lets talk, open to all offers except stupid ones. Please note that in the state of Georgia we do not have titles for anything before 1962, they do issue us registrations which you can get a title from your state using the registration number. When you drive it around everyone salutes or blows their horn with a thumbs up. If you do not want to be noticed then this unit is not for you.”
John shared some pics from the Yelvington Jet Availation‘s Jeep Collection at the Spruce Creek Airport in Florida. It includes the following along with a North American P-51D and various other artifacts.
The Gainsville Times in Georgia published a story about Claude Whittle’s restoration of an M-38.
That just doesn’t look fun.

“Desert Jeep. Mostly original. New electrical. Replaced generator with alternator. New drum brakes. About all that’s left to do is paint it. There are some minor chips and dings, but no major structural damage. I really enjoyed fixing it up and driving it around town, but I need room in the garage. The spare tire bracket is welded to the roll bar, so no stress on the back quarter panel. Yes, that’s a oogah horn in the photo; I still have the original horn. It just doesn’t sound as cool….”
