“Original Czech Army field kitchen. This one has been fully restored to working condition. Has been converted to propane burners, new receiver, new wiring and lights. “We found this while cleaning out my fathers estate. I believe it MAY be a wiring harness but I am not to sure. The condition is as you see it pictured. This device was not, will not and cannot be tested as I wouldn’t have the foggiest idea on how to do so. The cord as well as the rest of the attachments are very HEAVY! This is such an oddball, that I thought if it was military, someone might see value in it.
“Here we have for your bidding pleasure is a 1945 GMC Military Truck equipped with an original Leroi Air Compresser unit and a sandblast pot, we were told from a person who has had some knowledge of older military trucks that there were just under 1100 of these units built for the war and they were used in the construction and maintenance of bridges during that time. As far as we know the truck is all original as it was made and as we were also told that they where constructed between the years of 1940 to 1942, we do have the original books for the aircompresser unit and some other literature pertaining to the truck itself, it has been sitting for about 7 years and we were told by the facility we received it from that it was in running condition at that time, as of right now you are buying it not operable, as one can see by the pictures it is all complete including the front winch, all tires are in fair shape, we have filled the front tire up that was flat in the pictures and it has held air for a couple of weeks now, this truck we feel is very rare find and how many are really left?? “1961 willys wagon with a straight 6 and manual transmission. Engine starts and turns over, but it needs someone with some mechanical skills to fix a few things. It has a plow and a winch. the winch is a PTO winch and is very heavy duty. It would be a great truck for someone who needs a plow, or needs a work truck. I dont have a title and it will probably need to be towed out of the yard.”

“1962 Willy’s pickup with matching willy’s trailer included, trailer is from approximately the 1950’s. Original equipment body, frame, 5 rims, glass, front bumper, and much more. New gas tank and sending unit. Things that need fixing include temperature gauge, gas gauge, wipers system and some oil leaks. Most everything else works fine but could use more attention. The engine clutch and back bumper are from a 1974 Chev 1/2 ton truck and the engine runs well. I do not deliver, buyer is responsible for making arrangements to get the vehicle. The paint looks nice but the paint preparation was not all professionally done so there are areas of the body work that are not smooth. Drives with some roughness and noise but is sound and functional. Nice vintage vehicle that is usable and fun.”

“46 willys cj2a early production with the tool indent on the body. it is missing the motor and the seats. The tub needs work but for the year not too bad. It is a project but the tub is pretty rare if you are in to original and not repo. I also have another tub that needs work for 200 as well as fenders and hoods but again they need work. “Came across this set of 4 wheels bought them for my jeep. But have decided to go with a different type of wheel. They are 16″ which are more on the rare side, typically you find these as 15″ They looked to be in decent shape. Still have a good coat of paint on them, Actually looks to have a couple maybe more coats of paint in which helped to preserve them. The tires on them have dry rot. If you are not picking these up. I will remove the tires for shipping purposes. I have it marked at local pickup only, however I will ship. Just give me your address for a quote.”

This photo was at a Pacific History site, though it isn’t clear to me whose site this actually is. The picture was part of a Honolulu Star-Bulletin newspaper and likely was taken in 1946. According to the caption, “Seems someone wrote in and complained that the newspaper photographer’s Jeep looked “like it belonged in a circus,” so when the circus actually came to town, the photographer obliged. Note the chrome wheels, bumper and grill on this surplus GPW, and the fabric-wrapped steering wheel. I’d be willing to bet the body isn’t olive-drab any more. Suggestions? I’m guessing bright blue.”

On January 7, 1953, Ringling Circus clown Paul Jerome posed for photographer Joseph Janny Steinmetz. The reason for shooting a clown in a jeep on the beach is unknown; however, Steinmetz lived in Sarasota, FL, so maybe the location was convenient. Both photos are from the State Archives of Florida.
Note the jeep has both bowholders and possibly a spare tire carrier on the driver’s side.

A couple days ago I was adding the WPC Museum to my list of places to visit on our upcoming trip to the East Coast next May/June (official announcement in January). But, then I learned the museum was closing at the end of this year.
However, John forwarded this link indicating the museum has been sold to the Chrysler Group LLC. So, the 67 vehicles won’t be split up just yet. Unfortunately, the exhibits will only be open on special occasions. And, despite how ‘special’ my wife thinks I am, I don’t think I’m special enough that they’ll open that for me.
For the jeep lover who has jackets . .. only four coatracks left!

The Chevy 265 is era correct. I’ve never heard it put quite that way before. This runs and drives and has a warn OD.
“Here we have a 1953 Willy’s Jeep that came from Tennessee so it is rock solid!! At some point years ago, somebody did a very professional looking installation of a 1956 Chevy 265 V8, which has all matching numbers including the 4 barrel carberator that still has the tag on it. This engine was installed so well that it looks like the jeep came from the factory with it. The engine itself runs absolutely excellent. It starts up immediately, idles beautiful, no smoke or noises whatsoever. I figure the engine itself is worth a little bit of money by itself to someone who may be looking to restore a ’56 Chevy.
I bought this Jeep only a few months ago beccause I fell in love with how solid it was and that it had the 265 in it that is era correct for the Jeep. The only 2 rust holes were where the original taillights mounted – all I did was grind it down and everglass it in. The Jeep had multiple colors on it and was half sanded down when I received it; So, I sanded down the rest of it and sprayed the Jeep with a Sherwin Williams Commercial Water Based Paint. This is not a quality paint job by any means. I just couldn’t stand looking at it in multiple colors anymore.
When I purchased it I only heard it run with gas down the carb. I have cleaned out the gas tank, rebuilt the carb and as stated earlier, it runs perfect. The engine will run at 160-180 degrees all day long. The Jeep has Warn lock out hubs and a Warn overdrive unit. Everything on this Jeep is stiff from sitting many years. I have driven it around the yard – the brakes work good, 1st and reverse and hi low range are easily shifted. Everything else needs to be freed up to work properly. I have only done as much as I have had time for to get it ready for winter storage. – incl new antifreeze.
It has a full canvas top as pictured; However, while trying to put it on in 40 degree weather, I was not able to get all the snaps to snap. So, I don’t know if it needs to be done in warm weather to stretch or if it is just shrunk. The clutch works excellent. Glass is all good. Back tires are very nice. Front tires are dry rotted. It does come with a spare as well as a 5 gallon jerry can and a tote full of extra parts. Floors are great – no rust at all. If you look closely at the photos you will see that the drivers side muffler is good and the passenger side is completely shot. The rest of the pipe going up to the exhaust manifold is good.
It has a clear Ohio Title that matches the vin plate on the body. It does come with extra paint.
This is a PROJECT VEHICLE.
I do like this vehicle alot which is why I bought it; However, it will have to sit outside tarped off this winter which I really hate to do so I have decided to sell it. If it does not sell, I will tarp it off & it will be its first time outside in snow in at least 30 years that I know of.
