(05/15/2012) 1946 Willys CJ2A. Runs/Drives. Needs brake work and I have a new rebuilt starter ready for install. Smooth primer body with some rust on undercarraige. Texas title in hand and registered as an “antique vehicle” so no State inspection required!”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1350
(07/06/2010) It might be worth a closer look if you are near Burbank.
“I have had this Willys Jeep since 1998. Drove it home and it got disassembled. It’s been a project ever since. THIS IS A PROJECT
I would strongly discourage the average person; you need to be mechanically inclined to have fun with it. *** I have a trailer and can provide delivery *** ”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1900.
(05/08/2012) It doesn’t run. The top is not included.
“Willys 1946 CJ2A Very solid Jeep, body and floors in very good condition, this is not a beat up rust bucket. This Jeep was parked inside a hanger and used at a private airstrip in Calpine CA, where it has been for 51 years. Front end has been rebuilt, new Warn hubs and aftermarket bell crank. At some point it had a V-6 Buick 225 engine installed, the rest of the Jeep is all stock. The Jeep has not run for about 12 years but was running when parked. Tires are still in great shape. Have original CA pink slip. Jeep has original black and yellow plates. Nice Jeep to restore for the price. With a new battery and a few hours of work you could have it back on the road.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1800.
“48 Willys, Body Excellent, Buick V-6 replaced original Engine in the late 60’s. Chev steering with frame horn mods. Otherwise it’s all original Jeep/Willys. No seats. I have 1 original wheel and extra (or original) front axle. Bring you own wheels and tires. Make Offer.”
Glenn forwarded a couple pages of this old catalog for hi-performance parts that included a few for the jeep. He sent these to me after a short discussion with Scott, who races using F-head and L-head motors (more on that to come).
According to Scott, “I have bored them up to .092 oversized and I have had about 6 different cams made by crane cams. The motor I have had the best luck with so far is .060 over with dome style pistons. It has 1.7 ratio roller rockers. It is a F head. I cut the side of the head open and welded the water jackets and built an intake manifold that is 8″ high. With a 500 cfm holley ive been able to get 7000 rpm out of it.”
Scott’s experimentation has been done simultaneous to Sam at Flatfender Willys, who experimented, just for fun, with hi-po parts in a flat head with modern honda fuel injection. Sam did a few other things to the engine, but I don’t precisely remember what. Sam and a friend drove the motor hard, before it finally gave out, though a couple transfer cases and a drive line gave out before the motor did.
Here are the two pages from Glenn.
Robin shared this humorous advertisement. The seller either carefully, or not, decided on a peculiar abbreviation for the word ‘assembly’.
You can read the original ad here: http://willysforsale.com/ads/willys-horn-ass/
Here is a snapshot of it.
Buz spotted this Mahindra at the team-bhp website.
He notes, “The post below this one mentions “One will find hoards of such jeep rotting” in India. I guess they aren’t going to the scrap mill like over here.”
The front cowl is so crushed that at first I thought I was looking at a Bantam prototype. You can see the cowl damage in the last pic.
“For Sale 1946 Willys Jeep Rolling Chassis with Transmission and Transfer case.

“I have a 1947 willys unfinished project, runs and drives. I have a good title. It has CJ-5 running gear, 304 amc V-8. low range kit in the transfer case. 456 gears front and back. rear lock right, limited slip in front, t18 four speed, 33 in mud grappler tires, body is in good condition, interior work needs to be finished, front wench will not be sold with it. Its a project, its drivable but not complete. The reason im selling is because i have to many projects going on.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $4800
This lokos in good shape.
“This truck runs great and is ready for mud or sunday driving. No time to play with it anymore. needs a new garage. its lifted and has oversized tires”
I can’t tell if this is a CJ-2A body that has had the drain holes filled and the tailgate covered up or a ww2 body with a filler inlet added.
“Very good condition”
From the decals, it appears to be a UN Farm Vehicle stationed along Route 66. How it reached Canada is less certain.
“4WD, NEW TRANSMISSION,RUNS WELL. REPLY HERE OR CALL DAVE AT 604.510.1417”
I like the little toy/pedal(?) jeep.
“New tires 12 volt otherwise mostly original. From southern NM no rust, tool box good spare seat frames and heater. Call Tod 970-406-2033”
UPDATE: Was listed at $7500. **Status Unknown**
This is a nice looking combo.
“For sell as a set only, a restored 1956 Willys CJ-5 Jeep, plus a Bantam trailer (jeep trailer, civilian). They were restored at the same time, painted to match. Same tires and wheels. The Jeep has a metal half cab, (doors easily lift off for summer driving) Ramsey winch, Warn overdrive, heater, new hubs, custom rack on back to hold extra spare tire, gas can, hi-lift jack, and shovel. The rack can be easily removed. The jeep has the original spare tire mount on the right side of the body. For sell as a set only, I will not split the trailer from the jeep. The jeep has just a few miles since the restoration, the trailer has not been pulled at all. Very nice set. Only selling to pay medical bills (new baby in the house) They are sitting on a lot in Vale, Oregon, as I live way out of town on a ranch. $7,500.00
Plenty of surface rust, but it doesn’t appear to be a rust bucket.
