UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $9750.
Looks like a good build. I wonder if that’s a custom radiator. Looks like it ought to keep the engine cool.
“This is a very rare original 1960s California hot rod. 1955 Chevy 265 V8 purchased in 1962. I have the original bill of sale. It has vintage WW2 correct Olive Drab paint and vintage painted stencils! It has an original WW2 Jeep frame, original WW2 windshield, and many other military specific parts.
This Jeep was built right! A 1957 Thunderbird Holley carb that has been completely rebuilt. It has an early 1960s Ford steering column and master cylinder, a handmade custom roll bar and optional rear seat. It features real military aircraft seat belts!
This great Jeep has been inspected from bumper to bumper and ALL parts have been repaired or replaced! It is ready to go! New gas tank, windshield gaskets and interior gauges. Fog lights were originally sourced from a farm tractor!
It has the original transmission and heavy duty Dana 44s so top speed is about 60mph. This transmission also has a rare Borg Warner overdrive attached. It was disconnected when the transmission was rebuilt a few years ago. The military blackout light and parking brake has not been wired up. This is a 1st year Chevrolet V8 engine with a rare 1955 Corvette intake and valve covers! The engine purrs like a kitten and doesn’t smoke at all or use oil!
It has a very small amount of oil and transmission fluid seepage when warmed up but that is completely normal for these Jeeps. It drives wonderfully with lots of power, very few rattles, shifts smoothly and has a functional 1940s siren.
This original California car is in outstanding 1960s condition. The OD paint of many many years ago is beautifully aged with a great old school look! The only rust that can be seen is in the hat channels under the body. This is extremely common due to the wood inserts and has no effect on the safety of the Jeep. The floors and body are solid! The back rear corners have some small dents and a bit of rust near the taillights. Amazing condition for a Willys that has never been restored or removed from it’s frame!
A shy person shouldn’t drive this Jeep! Be ready to have many people wave and stop you to talk.
Also several extra parts come with the Willys. A Coca-Cola picnic cooler, the original steering column, and several cool military tools and vintage fire extinguishers.
This Jeep is being sold As Is with No warranty. Many documents and receipts are included back to 1962! I can help with shipping but payment in full must clear first. Ask your family before you buy as all purchases are final.”
