After seeing this ad multiple times, it got to me.  The seller claims in each ad that the photo below was taken during the Prohibition era.

I mean, c’mon, how difficult is it to look up Prohibition (1919 -1933) and look up when jeeps were built (nothing before 1940).  I mean, am I asking so much?

Now here’s a more complete version of the picture.  Note the jeep is atop wood slats which are atop beer bottles.

Ok, here’s the best one I found.  I thought I had posted it previously.

I’d be willing to say that even looks like the Andrews Sisters in the picture. Very big during and after the war.

It’s possible these are the Andrew Sisters. I have tried to confirm that, but no luck so far. Here they are singing 6 Jerks in a Jeep http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZfI8p47rn94.

If I remember correctly, the photo above is part of a photo shoot that also had the jeep on bottles. Somewhere I have those pics, but can’t seem to find them at the moment. I thought I also had a larger photo of the one above.

    Thx . Dave.

The picture of the three women in the Jeep was taken to promote the Jeep to the US Army during WW2. The three women were secretaries that worked at the Overland in Toledo. One of them was my mother.
