“Old Willy year model original 1944 in fair running condition, in need of restoration , new mexico body not much rust on this one , was told it was original us navy , but to not know for sure, has an old canvas top needs replacing, it is still usable, only surface rust on the whole body, 4cylinder engine 3 speed transmission, the frame has never been cut up to put in a big V8 price is firm, if I cannot sell it for this price I will sell it for scrap steel next week. the jeep was given to me by my brother who pass away 2 years ago, I tried to fix things on it but no one would help me out. So got fed up with it and I do not even use it or need it it is taking up part of my yard space, and I got it for free , so I don’t really care about it. I have a good title in hand , email me for address to come view and bring cash. I will not hold it for any callers, first come first serve, Please to not email with stupid questions I might trade for other items , let me know what you have to trade. and please will not trade for things that go bang bang.”

Beware of a scam artist who has been selling fictional flat fender jeeps in the Albuquerque area. His ads are too talky and always explaining how he just wants to get rid of the jeep at too good and enticing a price. No pictures, no identification for tracking, just smoke and mirrors.

Los Chavez isn’t a town, it’s a “census designated place”, just like “Tome” from another recent ad. Very likely a scam.

Thanks guys .. I was a little suspicious about this one. I probably should have said something given the lack of phone.

Gordon, I didn’t know these weren’t towns. I’ll update the Tome one too. Thanks!

Usually when I see the “if I can’t get my price, I’m gonna scrap it next week” statement I know I don’t want to deal with the guy. Either he is trying to convince folks to buy his stuff in a hurry so they don’t get to really investigate the deal and just how bad his jeep is, or he is just plain stupid. Yeah right.. If I can’t get $800 for my jeep that’s worth $400 I will drag it to the scrap mill and get a hundred bucks. Give me a break, bozo.

Has anyone got any more details about this particular scammer and if he has sucessfully scammed anyone?

Tome and Los Chavez are old Spanish settlements, curiously located just across the Rio Grande River from each other in a rural area. Not likely that two posts from the same questionable area would occur at nearly the same time. They are not currently recognized towns, though you can find their locations using Google Earth.
