UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2100.

This includes an overdrive.  I’m surprised this didn’t sell for $2500.

“I listed this Jeep a number of weeks ago for $2500, a very reasonable price, I thought. Several people looked at it but it didn’t sell. I have too many cars and even too many Jeeps. I need to find a new home for this post WWII Jeep. It has original four cylinder motor that was rebuilt at some point, new tires, an after market overdrive. ( previous owner used it as daily driver). the engine driven winch has a piece of metal broken off of it so doesn’t work. There had been quite a lot of rust on it. This was repaired with 18 gauge steel welded in. It has new paint. This Jeep will make a fun and inexpensive (compared to a all terrain vehicle) toy or a good working vehicle. I think the carb may need to be replaced or rebuilt because I have to keep choke out or it stalls”

Well…. part of why it didn’t sell is there is a lot of incorrect body repairs done including a very rotted floor with no hat channels left. It was repaired for use but not restored. Check out the gaps on the lower corners of the windshield frame……I like the accessories included but with an engine that isn’t running right and a tub that needs to be replaced it really is no more than a $1500 jeep right now.

I feel that given it was running, even if poorly, and has a Warn OD that $2000 is a fair figure. I might have given the quality of the body too much credit though for $2500. Besides, it comes with a red knob. That has to be worth something, yes 🙂

My brother went and test drove this jeep for me. Aside from the junk tub, it wont run without a ton of choke. The tranny is on its way out and the OD doesn’t seem to want to work right either. It was a traded to the owner not to long ago and he is trying to dump it. From what he told me I’d think twice if it was $1000 bucks. I had emailed the owner because I was very interested and that he was all of 5 mins from my house. But with me being deployed to Kuwait I was trying to get some photos from him. I never could get a good shot of the right side….. its because the metal, or at least whats left of it, is coming off in sheets. Bottom line, the jeep is in sad shape and the photos are 100 times better then what it is.

Based on Johnny’s report, it seems Bill’s estimate was closer, or his eyes better, than mine. Thanks to you both.
