1945? CJ-2A Florida $10,800

This looks nice enough, but based on the body and grille, it doesn’t appear to be a 1945 CJ-2a.  Note the odd spring behind the driver’s seat in the third picture.

Dave – you are correct. I spoke to the owner, his Jeep is titled as a ’45 in FL, but it is actually a late 46.

It’s also an unusual shade of Normandy Blue.

Thanks .. I kind of figured it was something like that … even for a late ’46 it has got the wrong grill. It’s missing the drain hole on the passenger side, suggesting there’s been some body work too. Did they mention anything about that?

the spring is on the seat to act like an ” air ride ” type of suspension. looks like the seat frame swivels at the front. that’s my guess.

His name is Walt, he seems like a good guy. He is getting beaten up by the “purists” who are picking at his ad. One guy even threatened to report him to eBay’s fraud people if he didn’t change the year. …….Some people are a bit much. (these people hopefully know who they are) 🙂

The vin on this Jeep is CJ2A174741 according to the seller. 1948?

I didnt even notice the spring on the seat, but that is pretty interesting…. I’m assuming it’s an aftermarket kit (?)

If I’m viewing the picture correctly the front legs of the drivers seat are bolted directly to the body floor and the aft seat leg is raised up off the floor. Even with this unusual spring attached to the seat I don’t seat how this seat would be able to flex without doing damage to the forward seat legs or floor attach points. Also it appears the passenger side floor was repaired by the transmission hump.
