1947 CJ-2A Croydon, PA — Co-Owner Wanted **SOLD**

UPDATE: **SOLD**

Here’s one of the odder adds I’ve ever run across. The jeep looks pretty solid.

“Okay here’s the deal.

I have a vintage 1947 CJ2A Willies Jeep. It runs, has a new brake system and is in good shape. Needs body work tho, but not what you think – the tub is actually pretty good shape comapred to most older CJs.

This was the last “barn find” you would ever come across, an older gentlemen in Newville PA had it. A friend of his mentioned owning a jeep but leaving it in a barn. They dug it out from under all the hay and stuff and he sold it. It’s inspection stickers were from 1973, a year before it was put away. This is the sort of thing you read about in magazines.

However I am young man, bouncing from job to job. I live with my folks and they are none to happy about this, so I have no where to put it.

What I am offering is this – you store the vehicle, you get part ownership. Yes I do have a title for it, yes it is in my name. I’ve had this for three years now.

We work it out simple, you have a garage or something and I put you on the title. It still needs a restoration (mainly body work) but we can figure that out.

Basically this is your chance to have your own vehicle without all the hassles and a buddy to help out. It’s all orginal, runs and I have all the paperwork lined up. I’ve owned it for three years, before that it had only one owner – the 90 year old guy out in Newville PA.

Serious inquries only. Looking for people specifically in the Croydon/Bristol/Levittown area but I am open to other locations as right now the jeep is more then an hour and half away at a friends house.”

I have seen some of these Share deals with the super duper expensive sports car, Planes also have a share the cost/time set ups.. But there usually is a lot of paper work with these set up . if there is a penny of cash involved leave a paper trail a mile wide, in these cases I make it two miles wide

Co-ownership is common with boats but you would have to be best buds to get involved this way. If it were a rare military I could see maybe it would work – were you strictly parade and do reenactments.

Personally, I have a hard time with this idea. Jeeps are (unfortunately for the seller) under priced. The deal looks like the type partner”ship” that’s likely to sink.

I guess a storage unit is above his means. Maybe George Baxter at Army Jeep Parts in Levittown will let him park it on his property for a small fee!
