John recently posted some detail photos of jeeps froma visit to a Wings and Wheels Fly-In at Poplar Grove, Illinois in 2008. It is mostly Jeep detail photos for restoration reference. He hopes the photos will benefit some folks.

    the red tag on the dash, is that some sort of a locking mechanism for the parking brake. Was that a field modification or something devised by the owner. I have never seen one before.

    Mark, the red tag looks like one of those “remove before flight” ribbons used on aircraft and re-used “tongue in cheek” as key chains, backpad tags, and in general whereever someone’s sense of humor can think of. Also common are the “remove before firing” ribbons kept at the end of heavy machine gun barrels… reminds the operator to do maintenance before operating. You can get them at the PX and flea markets.
