UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $10,000

Runs and drives, but needs a little bit of paint work.

Selling my 1949 Jeepster, as you see from the picks its 99% original. It runs and drives very well. It was manufactured by Willy Overland company from 1948 to 1950, so not many exist. It needs some exterior paint work. It been sitting in my garage to long, time to find it a new home.”

Not exactly sure what to think of this Jeepster. It is not 99% original, I can say for sure. It is not necessarily a 1949 either. It has a 1948-49 dash and instruments, but it has 1950 front end sheet metal (fenders, hood and grille) and the F-head 4 cylinder engine which didn’t come out until early 1950 for the Willys vehicle lineup. The firewall appears to be engine turned, a nice touch but again, not original. The radio doesn’t look right but can’t tell from the photos. It has the 1950 Willys script rear bumper with the optional bumper guards. Being very picky, the center of the horn ring has the pre-1948 Willys logo, the Jeepster used the larger W-O in the center. The wire wheels aren’t original, but don’t look bad. The only way to tell what year it is is to look at the complete serial number. I suspect this is a combination of a couple of Jeepsters.

I can’t tell if this Jeepster’s comin’ or goin’. The first thing I’d do is take the front bumper-ettes off the rear bumper. (I’d rather have you scratch your nails on the chalkboard.) It has a unique color scheme, I’m trying to talk myself into liking it. I agree, the wire wheels don’t look half bad. For $10K, it should have a fresher engine, not a crusty looking one that needs a bigger drip pan. If the battery tray were on the firewall where it belongs, would that make it 99.1% original?

But it’s still a good ol’ Jeepster stored indoors waiting for the next guy to take care of her…
