You are looking at #11579. It has the correct rear hubs, column shift, windshield, and tool indents. No doubt this will be gone by the time I wake up Wednesday morning.

“We have a 1946 Willy’s Jeep for sale. This jeep has been sitting in storage for about 30 years. It ran when it was put away but currently will not turn over. It not in bad shape for being 69 year old.”

Ya it will sell fast. I really like that top with its big glass and extra windows in the back, and the angles on the top corners.

Doug, I agree. Whatever price you advertise it for should be the price. It’s a dirty trick to advertise it for $1500, take an offer for that, then get another offer for $4000 and take that. It’s BS.

It’s a shame when you make a deal, and the seller does not honor it…or tell you he got a higher offer, just in case you are wiling to match it…
That jeep is a great deal at 1500-3000, but then got to factor in shipping….

The price thing has happened many times before with good CJ-2A’s…. people advertise them without doing their homework, and then all of the internet trolls call the people up and tell them that they aren’t asking enough. These people don’t have the money, don’t have the ability, or just live too far away to buy it themselves….. but they want to ruin it for someone else.

This happened to a friend of mine not long ago with a grey 2A in Colorado. The daughter of original owner (deceased) advertises a nice original 2A for $3500. She gets 15 calls the first day, of which most were grumpy old men telling her she isn’t asking enough money… none of them offered to buy the Jeep. She quickly adjusted her price to $7k (I think). Major bummer for anyone else trying to score a nice 2A.

    Happy hunting.

    Andy,
Yes, it is a shame when sellers do not honor their word. I had a similar thing happen with a jeep where I had an agreed upon price with a seller. A few hours later they called back to tell me that they were selling it to someone else who had offered more money. He had not done his homework and now wanted to reap the benefits of finding out the true market price.

On the other hand, I another seller that stood by his word even though he was offered more money. He also had not done his homework but had the integrity to stand by his word. He was a very nice man who also threw in an engine stand and wheel dollies. I gave him extra money so as to reward him for keeping his word and for the fact he was giving me more than I had agreed to buy. I still feel I came out ahead because I would not have hesitated to have bought the jeep for what I ultimately paid for it.
    Better luck next time.

A similar thing happened to a buddy of mine on some willys fire engines a couple years ago. The seller told him thursday that she could not show them until sat. Friday they were sold. He was pissed!
