2016

Welcome to 2016. This is the 9th year of eWillys. Hopefully, once the book gets finished, which it will get finished, Ann and I will hit the road for more exciting adventures. We still have lots of things to see, people to meet and jeeps to drool over. I know for sure we’ll be in Utah in early June (my youngest son is graduating high school and wants us to take him to dinner. How can I resist that offer? We are also tentatively planning to go to the FC-Roundup in March. Over the past week I’ve been considering the possibility of exploring more of Nevada and southern Idaho for a couple reasons, but we also talked about trying to get to Europe. The latter idea may have to wait another year until we save some more money.

It amazes me that after 8 years and 35,500 posts that I can still find some unique content out there. I’ll keep turning over rocks until I run out of stories. Thanks for everyone’s support!!

    It’s well worth it.

Happy New Year Dave and Ann! Hope to see you in March, but have some surgery scheduled a couple of weeks before, so may not make it to Jesse’s this year.

Wish you and your family well.
You should consider a trip to Canada as your US$ is worth $1.40 Canadian and our gas is the cheapest it has been in years!

    Ed,

We have considered trips to Canada, but the last time we tried to get permission to take our vehicle to Canada (during our 2013 east coast trip), our bank (the note holder) denied the request (the jeep was relatively new at that point). There have been too many stupid Americans who have driven new cars to Canada and had them “stolen”, making it harder for honest folks to visit above-border friends.

I have been to Vancouver, Victoria & Whistler multiple times, but that was in the 80s and early 90s.

Stolen in Canada….?!? Must has been one of your co-citizen who bring it back to US! There is no thief in Canada….our politicien are’nt enough smart. You don’t need any skills to be corrupted.

P.S. I’m wirting it with a BIG smile in the face so ewillys reader’s don’t get offended.

Pascal. I didn’t mean to imply Canadians were doing the stealing. No, the vehicle would be reported stolen in Canada by the owner, then sold by the owner. Then, the owner would returned to the US and collect the insurance money. It’s Americans stealing from insurance companies, which means Americans pay more for insurance. And, it means it’s harder to drive north 🙁

    🙂

I did understand it. But i prefer to see only what’s good in people and always put the blaim on the politicien.
