“For sale is a bundle of Willys Jeeps. Included is a 1948 CJ2A runner, and a 1947 CJ2A for spare parts.

The story goes on the 1948 it was owned by a WWII vet who drove it around town. It was last registered in 2007. As seen in the pictures the body was patched over, but done very well, now sitting in primer and is nearly ready for paint (which was my original plan, but the list of projects has gotten longer). My goal was to create a reliable turn-key Jeep ready to drive. Below you can see a long list of the work/parts that went into this vehicle. I also have a clear Indiana title in my name. It has the “hotrod” Kaiser Supersonic engine which is a traditional Willys Go-Devil with a milled down head for extra horsepower. Yes it sounds like a gimmick, but after driving down the road I couldn’t stop laughing at the power vs the standard engine. Oil pressure is at a very healthy 40 lbs.

It has a Bestop in decent shape with a few minor cuts, and also a heater for winter fun. I’ve crawled all under the frame and it is rock solid. I pulled the engine out of the Jeep and went completely through the system:

-Resurfaced engine head
-New clutch, pressure plate, throwout bearing, pilot bushing, linkage
-Cap, rotor, condenser
-Coil, wiring, key switch
-Spark plugs, wires
-Good radiator, new hoses & thermostat
-Fuel pump, fuel lines
-Oil lines
-Battery
-Fan belt
-Bellcrank pin
-Completely rebuilt starter

As I wrote above, it is essentially a turn-key Jeep. Before driving down the road it will need the brakes to be fixed. I’m not a brake guy, so I didn’t mess with them. It will also need a different gas tank or the bottom of this one JB welded. Right now it leaks and is currently running off a small tank I use to test engines with. Exhaust is nearly open header but a replacement is cheap. With a clear title, you can go straight to the BMW and make this road legal. It’s a great runner.

1947
As for this Jeep, it is included for parts. I was going to use the speedometer and tail gate hinges on the runner but never got to it. The frame is pretty solid with only a couple minor spots of rust: the battery tray and above the driver front leaf mount it is starting to need attention. Believe it or not, I actually drove this Jeep around the yard before the engine was pulled. So the axles/transfercase are proven to work. Tranny/body are not useable. Also going with the Jeep is a spare engine block that would be a candidate for full rebuild. It’s nice to have oddball spare parts right in the shop. Here’s a general list:

-Solid frame
-Axles
-Transfercase
-Engine block
-Grille w/solid parking & headlights
-Speedometer
-Tail gate hinges
-Draw bar hitch

The title for this Jeep was signed by the next-of-kin from the estate sale back in the early 70’s. I tried to register it, but need a letter stating the information is accurate. If you would like to acquire the letter, I will finish putting the ’47 title in my name and sign it over to you. The ’48 is ready to go.

Feel free to call/text me anytime of day. If I don’t answer, I’ll get back with you shortly.
