UPDATE **SOLD** Was $2000.

“All stock, family owned since new – looking for a new home. Original L6 226 3.7L 226 CID L6 L Head. Dual PTO & Dualmatic front hubs. Engine has been dismantled and inspected by qualified mechanic – – – ready to be rebuilt. Mechanic willing to answer specific questions if necessary. Body has rust spots but is otherwise sound, with exception of floor boards which need replacement. Statement from mechanic:
“The engine bore is standard. I believe this engine can be rebuilt. I found most of the parts available out there all the pieces are here to put this vehicle back together. It does have some small rust damage over the rear Quarters on both sides above the tire but other than that this vehicle is pretty clean as far as rust goes”

Whomever buys this: do yourself a favor and install a newer engine, like a Jeep 4.2 liter or SBC. The 226 is an inefficient, antique (I have one).

On the other hand, the whole thing is an inefficient antique by today’s standards. Newer, easier, more comfortable, more efficient, less maintenance, etc could be had with a newer SUV instead of the venerable old Willys. But original is why we like them, with all of the associated issues. Id keep the 226.
