Travis spotted this rare Hurst Jeepster Commando model. However, it looks like this one has added gauges in the middle of the dash. (This video shows a stock dash, though the Hurst Badge on the hood appears incorrect). Here are some black and white photos of a HJC.

“1971 Jeep jeepster hurst wagon. #99 out of 103 produced. This vehicle was built on the last-run of Hurst Jeepsters. Rebuilt V6 225 engine, new timing chain, distributor, water pump, gas tank and sender, new tires and brakes, hoses with correct dauntless engine decals. Has rare special sales order plate. New interior, headliner, seat covers and paint. Recent paint and chrome, stripes and freshly painted engine compartment, undercoated body. NOS owner’s and repair manual. 74,125 original miles.”

    Looks very nice.
    Has incorrect Hurst emblems, missing rear carpet set, and as you stated, dash has been cut out for aftermarket gages.

    (Yes, I owned an original Hurst for about 5 years and have lots of photos…)

    I didn’t notice the steering wheel. I saw two different types of H emblems on this and one other Hurst JC. Is the single H correct (I saw that in some b&w photos on a Hurst JC) or is the H “edition” badge (or something close to that) correct?
