Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. Might be a tad ambitious. I concur with Bob in nc.
M38 style headlight guards. I had a Navy jeep with those back in the 70’s. Could this one be Navy? Only the extra brass dash plate on the dash will tell.
Anything’s possible, but I’d say the odds are on it being a basic CJ-3B to which someone added the guards. I agree, the dash plate would be key for calling it a Navy jeep.
I talked with the owner. There are no tags on the dash board. Been sitting in a barn 30 years or so. The tub is very rusty. Probably candidate for Tub replacement?? Somebody swapped a Buick 225 (now seized) in and it has a few other add-on’s. She’s a beaut Clark. I’m looking for a 64 but this one might be a bit too far gone.
