(02/24/2020) I like this one. It serviced the Glen Canyon area, which is pretty cool, too.

This is a very nice truck, with what I would think are low original miles. If I were to buy it, I would leave it pretty much the way it is, maybe few Nips & tucks, buff out the paint, and have that couple of years old look for ever. A time capsule.

Serial number plate doesn’t look right. Old style Willys plate from the 40s. This would have the same style plate as other Willys products of the mid 50s, with the numbers embossed from the rear, not stamped. Not saying the truck isn’t original, but the prefix numbers for a 6-226 4WD Fire truck should have been 55068 and the range of numbers went from 10007 to 10016.

The NRA on the door designated National Recreational Area, which is what Glen Canyon was in the 1950s, and the arrowhead below it would have been correct.

The dashboard is sure clean for a fire vehicle. Normally full of switches, gauges, radios, labels & stickers, and other controls.
