1955 Blunder Boys Movie w/ Real Jeep?

Blaine spotted what appears to be a jeep in the background of this Three Stooges movie. The jeep appears at the 1:08 mark and is shot from a couple angles until the 2:35 mark.

Can you spot the jeep and what model does it most look like to you? To me there are elements that make it look like it was originally a jeep, but it also has some elements that don’t look correct for this particular model.

As both a Jeep and Stooges affection ado I love it! Dave, this was fun! And the special effects like the large round coming through their position.
But to answer the question at hand, No. it’s not a Jeep or the remains of one. It’s a backdrop painted by Columbia’s art department. I moved this almost one frame at a time trying to find otherwise to no avail. Nothing is to scale. No tool box lids or hood block holes etc. etc. This technique was common in their Shorts and done very well, probably often using material already in their warehouse. And want to see their mastery at special effects, watch that large round in slow motion pass through their position.
Again, it’s a painted backdrop, nothing real of Jeep there.

Now I’m seeing the guy’s shadow upon the Jeep. I was too busy looking at the details of the Jeep. Now I see his shadow casts an outline as if the Jeep is flat (as in painted backdrop).

Scary to note how many K-W afficianados are the same about the Three Stooges. There’s a doctorate in here for someone

Bill – How true! Probably because we’re from a simpler, practical, non-politically correct era. We have a very large Willys Jeep library here at our business. Nestled within are 5 or 6 volumes on the Three Stooges
