Year? Mil-Ner Ambulance Model 475-4WD Brochure

I missed out on winning this brochure on eBay. Though stamped “1960”, the early grille plus the Willys-Overland branding on the brochure suggests Mil-Ner’s ambulance modifications may have been one of the earliest example of the Jeep being turned into an ambulance.

There is only printing on the front of the page. The back was blank.

thats great , heres a personal willys ambulance story — I bought my 51 sedan delivery in 1970 ? , 3rd one made that year , 473-2wd – got a good deal , $150 , a bag of pot and 5 hippie vitamin tablets — later put the overdrive transmission in it — heres the ambulance story — in 1971 ? I drove it over towards the coastside on the SF peninsula with some drinking buddies to go hiking — I parked it at the end of a county road west of skyline blvd – it was near famous rocker neil youngs ranch — we went hiking on the ranch next door , turned out it was famous scientist carl djerassis ranch land , he invented birth control pills , very wealthy — a few of us happened to be carrying randall made hunting knives , I collect them , I always carry a randall when out in the woods — we got back to the sedan delivery and someone had vandalized it , took the sparkplug wires out , wouldnt start – then a truck showed up with some cowboy looking fellow , he was armed with a six gun — he told us it was private property and told us to leave — the willys was parked on a county road — I told him to give me the wires back and we would go , the situation escalated I think when he saw we had randall sheath knives — remember this was right after the charles manson and his girls incident in los angeles — when the overweight cowpuncher wouldnt give me the wires back and started driving off , we started calling him assorted four letter words — he came back and cornered one of friends up against a barb-wire fence and pistol whipped him over the head with the six gun — *** was bleeding profusely and I asked the deranged fatboy for the wires back so i could take *** to the hospital — Fatass Moose , his nickname I found out later , said he threw the wires over the side of the road , I looked and found 4 wires , enough to run three cylinders on the f-4 134 , and one for a coil wire — I took *** to the hospital over the hill , about 15 miles — they patched him up — we reported the incident to the sheriff and basically nothing happened — then we sued them in court — it turned out the birth control baron was fishing buddies with the judge and the trial was over before it started — it was an early lesson in law ? and injustice — postscript — my old buddy *** recently died of a heart attack in cozumel , mexico , on a family scuba diving trip , I really wonder if it was because of the fast life style he was still living ? I heard he was in mexico a lot , had a friend with a new pc-12 pilatus turbo-prop , the pilot had a mansion in cabo san lucas , on and on — I cleaned up my act , I dont think he did .. RIP old friend …
