I missed out on this rare Australian Jeep Truck brochure (totally spaced the auction). I can see no date or form number on any pages. My guess is that this was published in 1957 or 58.

The description from th auction reads, in part:
“WILLYS 4WD 6 CYL. ALL-PURPOSE MODEL 6-226
GOOD CONDITION OVERALL. CLEAN,GOOD COLOR AND GRAPHICS. SLIGHT WEAR FROM AGE AND STORAGE.
WILLYS MOTORS AUSTRALIA PTY. LIMITED
4 PAGE FOLDOUT
BROCHURE CONTAINS SPECIFICATIONS, DIFFERENT BODY STYLES, OPTIONS, ETC.”

    Hi David

Have same brochure and no, there is no date or form no. on mine either although the brochure collector whom I got it off of had written ‘1960?’ so, as a guess, 1957 or 1958 seems to fit in.

    Regards

    Hi Graham,

Than ks for that info. The eBay scans weren’t the best. I was going to try to bid on the brochure, but life got in the way .. oh well!

The reason I thought it was a 58 was the ambulance pictured on one of the pages. Willys Motors stopped highlighting that vehicle in ’57 (I think). I’m not sure if Willys Export was pushing the model in Australia later than that.

Also, the trucks are shown as two-pane windscreens rather than one pane. I jumped to the conclusion that this happened internationally as well in 1960, but I realized I don’t actually know that for a fact.

    Thanks
    – Dave
