I looked at this one August 15th while driving across Oklahoma. There is significant body rust and plenty of flaking bondo. It fired right up, but one of the nuts on the head had very small coolant bubbles seeping out from beneath it while running. There is some rough patchwork on the transmission tunnel and the interior is coated in DIY bed liner. The steering box has been converted to a saginaw-style manual unit, and the welds looked very sturdy. The NDT tires are showing their age. I determined it wasn’t the one for me, so I did not drive it. It was worth the stop to see it; the owner keeps it at his father’s house, and his dad is the one that showed it to me. He was a real character and pleasure to speak with. I spent about 10 minutes looking at the Jeep and the next hour visiting with the dad before driving back to west Texas.
