Happy 11th Anniversary to us!

Friday was our 11th anniversary. We had planned to spend the morning at Art-in-the-Park, an annual event held in Richland, Washington, then, maybe, we’d take a drive over to Walla Walla to have lunch.

But no, instead we spent a romantic day setting up our portable corral panels and moving our squeeze (and fighting several wasp nests), so we could treat a calf that has pink eye. Naturally, it was a hot day, so we both got plenty of sun (and I sweated plenty). With the help of a neighbor, we got the calf into the chute and fixed her up as best as we could. We’ll see how it goes.

Readying the squeeze to be moved:

Of course, we needed a few things, so we made a romantic trek to Tractor Supply (woo hoo!):

While in Sunnyside, we tried a hole-in-the-wall Mexican place (El Fogon); the yelpers were right. Food was great!

Thankfully, I have an awesome wife who appreciates an anniversary gone awry!

Happy Anniversary! Hope you gave Ann a rain check so you can take her somewhere great when time allows.

  4. David in SE Mass

Being able to enjoy each other’s company while accomplishing tasks together(except bleeding brakes), on any day, in any weather, is an indication of wedded bliss.
    Happy anniversary.

I agree with David in SE Mass. But I stole his id, so I’ll just call him Dav. Why should the guy always have to do the heavy lifting on these occasions. Ann’s a champ, obviously. She’ll still sleep with a guy who eats Mexican food! They must have a hole in the wall at home too.

Thanks everyone. She’s definitely a keeper (and more than willing to help on brakes, too!).

    Frank and Carole,

If we make it to our 53rd Anniversary, I will have celebrated my 100th birthday (and her a 97th bday). That will be quite a year. Always good to have a goal!!

David and Ann……Happy 11th to you both. As others have already said……you know you’re in a good and growing relationship when you can have the kind of a day that you both did…..working…..getting unexpected projects handled…..working with neighbors……Tractor Supply (my wife always preferred Blains Farm and Fleet here in Wisconsin!!)…….and finally some impromptu Mexican……Life Is Good.

Well I missed this reminder that it was your anniversary since I was on a Jeep retrieval road trip. Happy Anniversary!

For pinkeye, we used to cut a blue jean patch, glue it with 3 M on three sides so it would drain, slap it on after treatment. Helps with shade, bugs, and brome grass irritation. Usually falls off after a while, but sure helps the calf. Still got my 47 that you posted years ago, and a couple Wranglers. Yippee. Charlie in Nebr.

    Thanks again everyone!

    Allan: yes, life is good.
Blaine: thanks for stopping by. … it was fun to visit. Sorry about the literal cold shower!
Charlie: that sounds like a good idea. The eye is healing, so we think we are win good shape, but will remember that idea for next time.
