“1950s Willys Jeep Phillipines Sarao Jeepney Rare Tourist Buggy Taxi Mini Bus……Here’s a cool project for you Jeep fanatics. No title. I will provide bill of sale. This Jeep needs complete restoration as you can see. There is one dent on the roof at the left rear corner, the rest of the body is straight. The body has surface rust and the skim coat is crackling all over, but it’s very solid. The vast majority is surface rust. The floors and frame are solid. The only rot I see is at the roof seam over the driver area. The other side of the car at the roof is solid. It is very complete. The only items I see missing are two hubcaps, one interior ceiling panel, the passenger seat cushion and maybe a few small bits. I’m not sure exactly what year it is, but I believe it is from the 1950s by the details I looked up on Sarao and Jeep websites.

The engine number near the water pump is 3J133392. I don’t see a VIN number of the Jeep. If someone knows where it’s hiding on a Jeepney, let me know. This car has been sitting a long time. The engine does run. You pour a little gas in the carb and she starts up. It doesn’t seem to have any funny noises or puff oil, but the carb definitely needs refreshing as it sputters and dies sometimes. The steering box needs rebuilding. It does not steer with the steering wheel. I think the gears are stripped in the steering box and it leaks fluid. The brakes are down of course from sitting. The exhaust needs work(manifold is nice).  The details on this Jeepney are so cool. The more you look, the more you see. Sarao emblems all over. All hand painted artistry including the ceiling panels. They really blinged them out. Very rare in America….”

Dave: Thanks for the update. I guess this one has gotten around.

Craig: Ann wouldn’t mind, but I just can’t have another project sitting around at this point. These things just weigh on me.
