UPDATE: Price dropped to $2200

(03/10/2024) This has a GPW body. It may also have a rare Dumas or Carson middle seat (can’t tell for sure). It also has an unusual modified, but probably handy, cowl.

“1953 Willys CJ3A. No engine, had a ford 4cyl. I believe it has a GPW body going by the fuel tank filling under the driver’s seat , rear toolbox’s on fenders and no tailgate. Has been modified with a storage space under the windshield. Homemade lift shackles on the springs. Not in bad shape for its age. Clear Wyoming title. Sold as is. I do have a fresh rebuilt iron duke engine for sale for an additional charge.”

This is the third or fourth jeep I have seen posted here with that cowl modification. They all seem to be located in this area of the country. They also all seem to have some sort of hardtops. I wonder if some shop in the area was doing all the modifications.

The steering column modification is something I have not seen before. I wonder if it has to do with the custom seating or just a oversized operator.

    Hi Mark,

I was interested in documenting these cowl bumps, but think I forgot to add the tag on several of them. So, I only have the one above and other other for now. http://www.ewillys.com/tag/cowl-bump/

But, I agree, I feel like the upper intermountain west seems to have more of these than other places. I hope to add more from the archives as I locate them.
