Bill shared this article on MD Juan and some of the recent updates to their product line, along with some infrastructure updates. I know folks mock MD Juan at times, but their ability to manufacture inexpensive bodies means the company can’t invest heavily in additional equipment (chicken and egg situation). Nice to see the company continuing to support the vintage jeep community.
Three Ecuadorian Jeep Mailers on eBay
Here are three Willys Overland Export Corporation mailers in Spanish distributed in Ecuador. The look to be printed around 1960 given the blue ‘Jeep’ dot and the single-pane willys wagon. These are priced at $18.00 and are pretty rare.

Four New Jeep Watches
Bill also shared this article regarding some new jeep-branded watches by Marathon. Maybe it will interest someone?
I haven’t worn a watch since about 2001 (by then I had a portable phone and computer as constant companions). I found over the years I didn’t like wearing watches, jewelry, bracelets or anything on my fingers. I don’t even wear my wedding ring often (thankfully I have a patient wife). I recently discovered my aunt has had a life-long aversion to wearing items on her fingers and wrist, so maybe a DNA thing?
1956 Willys Truck Rebuild Thread
This thread of a 1956 truck rebuild was shared by Bill. It looks like this has become a non-stock rebuild.

It really belongs in a collection or in a fire department as a parade truck. It’s beautiful. It runs amazing and always starts. 1942? MB? Sacramento, CA $4200
I suspect this is an aftermarket CJ body atop a military chassis. The body has civilian aspects, but the rear cargo area has the boxes necessary to allow the vertical shocks seen on MBs and GPWs.

1960 CJ-5 Hodgenville, KY $1500
This jeep has some odd fenders. It also appears to have some Huffman hubs.

“Done up as a “army prop”. Has a military hood but it is a Civillian Jeep. Clean Tennesee Title 4cyl Motor is unknown. Frame has rust on front crossmember near steering linkage. Transmission doesn’t seem to shift at all. Trans crossmember is out of it. This is a TOTAL PROJECT that does not run, stop or steer. Don’t ask dumb questions. That’s why it’s priced so low. All four tires hold air and it will roll in a straight line. I can help you pull it up onto a trailer. Would be great for a mini golf course prop or yard art. Make a rat rod, fully restore it, let it sit in your yard, use it in a low budget movie, it can be yours for $1500 cash”

Willys-Overland Universal Jeep 1945 Videos
UPDATE: This was first published October 14, 2019. The videos were dated as 1948, but Bill noted that the actual date of release was 1945.
Brendan, who used to run This-old-jeep, posted this 3-part video back in 2010. The video was produced by Willys-Overland to help sell the new CJ-2A. I don’t think I’ve ever seen them.

Jeepster Pen Stand on eBay

“Here is a rare vintage, Willys Overland Jeep Jeepster pen and pen stand. The pen and pen stand are in very good condition. The pen does not write. It stands about 10 3/4 inches tall. The base measures about 3 7/16 inches wide, 2 inches deep, and about 2 1/16 inches tall. I am not sure what the base is made of, it is fairly heavy.
1955 M-38A1 Paris, IL $11,000
Tom is selling his nice looking M-38A1. He’s an analog kind of guy, so contact him via phone at 217 251 0741 and leave a message if you are interested.
“This 1955 M38A1 is an original 24-volt survivor that has always been olive drab. It has 2 brand new 12 volt batteries and 1 brand new 24 volt headlight. Everything works except vacuum windshield wipers, amp. gauge and fuel gauge. Floor heater was never installed. 2 jerry cans and pictured military memorabilia included. previous owner had mild restoration 22 years ago. Clean Illinois title in hand. It has always been stored inside for the last 22 years. I’ve owned for last 12 years. Just reducing my old Jeep collection. Need storage space for another old Jeep project I just have to have.”
1957 FC-150 Baton Rouge, LA $49,500
Price dropped from $60,000.

“1957 Jeep Forward Control FC-150. Frame of restoration from the first year. Narrow track axles. 6volt electrical system. 4cyl. 3speed. Every item was restored bumper to bumper back to original. Had the lead counterweight in the back. Full leaf pack on rear. This was a painstakingly meticulous restoration. It even has the bag for windshield washer fluid. I have not come across one of these that has a higher quality restoration.”
1948 CJ-2A Salisbury, PA Auction May 4th
This auction will be held at 3276 Springs Hill Rd Salisbury Pa (At The Springs Shop) on May 4th. The top and rear cover look custom. At first I thought the windshield was a CJ-3A, but the round arms suggest it may have been a modified 2A or military windshield. The jeep appears to included a plow.
1948 CJ-2A Douglas, WY $4200
No battery, so I am guessing this doesn’t run?
