Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “1962 Willys Jeep Truck. Runs and drives. Original drive train with the 226 ci straight-six and manual transmission. We have a fair amount of paperwork for the work that’s been done over the years. It’s a pretty solid pickup. There are a few rust spots, it’s not a show truck. Floor pans are better than decent with a few small holes. It starts right up and idles great. Tires are good. Paint is decent with the exception of the hood and roof where the clear has seen better days, and in the rocker areas where there is some rust bubbling. I’ve tried to be overly honest with the description, and I’m sure I’ve missed something, but I think you’ll be pleased to see it in person. Sold AS IS. Title in hand. Cash only. Pick up in Cumberland, MD.”

“`55 Willys pickup. body and interior mostly finished, Hurricane 226 engine run well but now after sitting a year a couple of valves stuck (remove subject cyl plug and gently tap down as it is turned over). Working plow frame and hydraulics. new gear reduction starter with maybe loose connections or just bad starter.New fuel tank. Decent tires. Bed deck needs replacing, have done nothing to frame and running gear or brakes due to heart problems. new windshields, new seats, lots of rotted body metal replaced. has to be finished but should not take a lot of either time or money. Have more time and money in it than asking price…be nice.”

“Anyone interested in a running 1961 Willy’s pickup? Swapped the original dizzy for and electronic setup. Runs, but has no exhaust, or brakes. I do however have all the wheel cylinders and master for it. Comes with extra wheels and tires. Plow setup works off of hydro tank in engine bay. New plugs and wires, have oil and filter for it. Super Hurricane inline 6. As You can see it is in rough, but usable condition.”

“I have a 1951 willys pickup, I bought from a friend, got it to restore but don’t have the extra funds for parts, was willing to sell for less because of an injury but all healed up now but still willing to part with for the right price. The motor should be good, it was restored and ran when parked in the yard around 20 years ago. Someone had taken the radiator off and belt somewhere over the years, but i do have the radiator. It rolls but haven’t worked on the motor so don’t know if it will start or not. I know these trucks go for much more in same condition. Asking $1,000 OBO I do not have the title but can right bill of sale. Also can have original owner provide paperwork if any concerns.”
