Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “1952 Willys Pickup truck. 20,000 Original miles. Solid truck. Starts, runs and drives good. Mostly original except for air filter. Everything works. 4-wheel drive with 2-speed transfer case. F-134 engine. New tires and brakes. New clutch. Vacuum wipers work great. New distributor. New fuel/ vacuum pump. New water pump and thermostat. Original 6-volt system with new wiring harness and voltage regulator works great. New plugs and wires

(08/21/2010) Last night I spotted this Truck for sale. The seller, Brian, doesn’t provide much detail, however he does provide a link to stories about his Truck. And let me tell you, they had me laughing (in that kind of Oh SHIT manner). For example, two stories involved failed brakes in precarious spots. “Back in the Spring of 1976 I bought my 1960 Willys Jeep pickup. It’s been at the center of many fine adventures, including driving it to Seattle from Bozeman in 1980. Recently, though, it’s pretty much been relegated to my garage and I think it’s time find someone who can care for the old guy the way he deserves. “This is a Willys Jeep pickup used exclusively for a Fire Department brush fire response vehicle. It spent it’s life garaged, warm and clean. Because of this it has no rust and 29K original miles. It is BETTER than a frame-up restoration, because it hasn’t yet gotten to the point of needing restoring. It is still a fun, reliable, licensed and inspected daily driver in the mechanical condition of any truck with 29K miles. Of course, there are the added perks of a loud siren and flashing lights if you want to be noticed even more. I have owned it for five years (bought it directly from the fire company) and would be happy to keep it, but like many people, I have growing cash flow problems, so I have to take a cold look at my priorities. It is time to sell. I have set a fair and reasonable reserve for the quality of this antique. It is located near Binghamton, NY and you could drive it home if you wanted, but it would be a crime to run up needless mileage and wear. A flat bed trailer would be best, or hire a car hauler. This is a 50 year old antique, so naturally there is no warranty. Sold as-is, where-is. Try to get your questions in well before the auction ends so I have time to answer.”
This might be a good price, especially if you already have an extra radiator.

This looks like a solid truck, though it needs the wiring finished and there is some rust.

“Beautiful 1965 Jeep Gladiator, 350 Buick eng. Automatic trans. A real pleasure to drive, certainly turns heads wherever it goes. It is a 4×4 but never goes off road! Power steering, manual hubs, truck is always garaged and rarely even driven. Needs a few finishing touches to make it perfect but is fine the way it sits! Hate to sell it but could really use the room in my shop right now. Please email with questions and I’ll try and answer them the best I can, if you would like more pictures let me know and I’ll send them off. The truck has a California title at the present time. I can have the truck shipped anywhere or will work with your shipper on my end.”

“This is a great un-altered project. It is about 99% complete and original (4cyl. flathead Hurricane engine, 3speed trans with Hi-Lo range, 4X4….. all in operational condition, The brakes are NOT working ) The body is pretty solid except for rust through on driver side floor. Title in hand.”
